yep that would be jake lol lol as for the gearbox i really don't know mate but sure some of the tec heads will be along to help soon -
real pisser mate i would be kicking off big time and would be getting my cash back but sorry to say you should have gone and looked at the car i would never take anybodys word that "its a good un mate" hard to say it but really its your own fault for not going up there in person to view it

not sure if it would leak down to the arch they normaly leave a puddle in the boot or the headlineing if its that joint leaking most people seem to cable tie or use glue to make the joint stronger it maybe the water is runing down the piller and found away out to the rear arch i'm not sure but worth a look anyway mate

if its the same as the mk4 then yes you will need to pull the lineing down to get to the pipe mate as it runs inside the piller and the join is where it comes out of the piller and then runs for a very short distance into the tailgate

not sure on the mk3's but common fault on the mk4's and on them the pipe runs up the pas side rear piller and into the tailgate at the top there is a joint just inside the headliner that seams to fail alot

lol mine has just come on aswell i thought you held the trip reset button in then with it held turn the ing then use the clock time button to reset it this worked on daughters bora but don't seem to work on the 4mo so i will do it with vag com but the above is the normal way to do it
