Hand tight??? not sure about that. check manual for torque settings you dont want them threads stripped or coming loose.

appologies if this is elsewhere but is there a DIY way to reset the service indicator light on an 02 4 motion? without having to have it plugged in at the steelers?

mine is non resonated but its still not LOUD, as such just sounds nice. It hasnt offended anyone as yet and i work 6 to 2 shift. I think with the milltek the development was more about the quality of sound rather than just making a loud pipe. I bought it because it was a good price on e bay half thinking that i should really be getting a resonated one, but its really not that loud.

non resonated milltek fitted, snapped up on e bay for a good saving on new, sounds really nice not loud just really nice, Amazing how many places I "really" need to go in it now, no need for the sound system! It just needs induction kit and i will be happy any suggestions?

have bought milltek pipe for 4motion. Is removing the old system doable with ramps? It looks like the standard system is one piece from the cat back join is that right? how heavy is the original back box, ie can one person take it off reasonably? any tips or should I just take it to the exhaust shop up the road.

vin no is stamped on the metal cross piece (dont know the correct term) at the back of the engine bay with bonnet up,but covered in plastic with a viewing window to enable you to see the vin no, if its anything like mine though its very hard to actually read this through the plastic window. I think the vin is also on a sticker under the boot carpet if i remember right. good hunting!

bought my 4 motion in july 80000 miler no probs no regrets love it. you might think they have probs when you come on the forum but its just that folk can get very good advice on here who may have a few issues for the price of the membership fee. (bargain) but there will be thousands of 4motions out there with no probs you just have to find a good one.

planning a heated seat element replacement on the 4motion,I could easilly live without it but as its the only thing on the car that isnt working I kind of feel obliged to fix it. Problem is ,apparantly its best to disconnect the negative battery lead before removing a front seat so as not to end up with a air bag warning light being illuminated when you have finished the job, trouble is I cant seem to find the radio code anywhere. Is there anyway round not knowing the code for the radio, without having to take the car to a dealer ( im guessing that would still be cheaper than taking it to vw

yes its 36mm, unfortunately someone during a previous oil change has managed to totally round off the drain on the bottom of the filter so things were a little more oily than they needed to be. you have to hope whichever hamfisted person that managed that hasnt "mended" anything else on the car.

apologies if I should be searching for this basic info elswhere but after tackling the haldex oil and filter chance a week or two back its time for engine oil change and filter on my 4 motion does anyone know the torque setting for the drain plug and the filter housing? is the sump drained at the back im thinking i can do the whole job with the car up on ramps if it does, naturally i scrambled under to have a quick look but all i see at the moment is the plastic cover im assuming this drops away after undoing some screws, does it need to be released in any particular direction or way (no wonde

Thanks for that information. But does anyone know what the difference is between G 052-175-A1 and G 055-175-A1 haldex oil? I have bought G 052-175-A1 on flea bay but wont put it in till i find out if its the right oil. Thanks in advance

planning to change the haldex oil and filter on my golf 4 motion at the weekend. I have filter 02D-525-558-A, and 275ml oil cartridge G052 175 A1. Looking through the various guides on the net and on this site to I have noticed There is also part no G055 175 A1 (oil cartridge) does anyone know what the difference is between the two and more to the point have i got the right one?
