    You should hear the pump it makes like a grrrrrrr sound. It's well easy to replace you just unplug the electric and vac line plugs.

    I have bought an 8P A3 TDI. I was using the VR as my business vehicle too and people just weren't getting it, they were all thinking more like, you mustn't be any good you're driving a 17 year old car. The fuel was also getting to be an issue. I cant keep both so I have to.

    You would put it on retention at a cost of £105 then £25 a year onwards, the reg that is original to the car should still be reserved for the car and would be re assigned to it

    Pop the airbag off first and you can have a look at all the wires, there'll be 2 Allen bolts on the back side of the wheel, undo them and the airbag will be freed. You can either hold it out of the way while you check or if you want to disconnect it take the battery cables off half an hour before first.

    Probably the horn wire insulation has worn away somewhere and it's shorting on metal and completing the circuit

    Don't take the lid off when it's hot, the pressure releases and it will then boil over violently, best case you will lose your coolant worst case your top layers of skin

    If you're on about style the early ones say VR6 - DOHC the later ones say VR6 - 2.8

    The callipers are the same apart from the S3 should have a piston a couple of mm bigger, the carriers to space the calliper out are the important part

    Coolant out if the over glow usually means the tank cap isn't making a good seal, first I would get a new cap they are cheap from VW.

    I used pretty much everything on it just to get the grime off, there was like brown muck all over it, it'd obviously been sat probably within open door in a breakers somewhere, the airbag unit was shagged and I got another one, handy aside, a normal mk4 airbag fits. Once it was basically clean I then gave it a few rounds of auto glym leather cleaner until no more nasty shite came off, then smothered it in auto glym leather balm. The instructions on the bottle say to rub it in and only leave it for a few mins but this didn't do much, I covered it in the stuff like you would ice a cake and lef
