  1. Doesnt it get annoying just wheel spinning all the time? I say this because i recently went out in a friends 4wd pulsar and its amazing how it can just plant all the power down. I struggle occasionally and im just N/A , so is it really worth it going fi with 2wd or better to just sell up and get a syncro.

    What was the original mk2 engine ? if it was any carb based engine then the fuel system will not be high pressure enough. You will need a fuel pump for injection along with checking all your fuel lines as some may need replacing.

  5. Id personally spend a bit less and get the car sounding nice with a decent cat back and intake and then just start saving for second hand charger. Has to be the best value of £/hp you can get.
  6. I had problems for ages with the stock coil pack and i almost converted to msd but in the end just got another standard coilpack second hand and ive been fine since.
  7. Start removing all of the un needed interior if you can should make it quite a bit quicker.
  8. Id base it more on the number of boxes in the system and if you are running a decat or not. I cant hear mine when i boot it due to the induction sound. Quiter exhaust and then a nice open air filter for sound only when accelerating.

  11. Thanks for the info,the price for a one off mk3 isnt that bad at all, sure you could make it back in the long run if you wanted to! Im getting hold of some knock earphones and hopefully hitting the dyno in a next week or 2. It will either go bang or run better
  12. Where abouts are these drive shafts failing, is it in the same place as last time?
  13. Hey , where did you get your parts from to make up your oil feed and drain lines to the turbo? Will you be hitting the strip at gti inters?
  14. Its a massive job to be honest. If your good at fabricating or have a friend who can do it then your okay. Some of the main issues ive come across : Location - if front maybe you will need to move the radiator due to the size plus relocate the alternator If its on the back then your going to need to come up with a very good belt tensioner system, Belt tension : most likely need to design your own tensioner system Intercooling : if running on the front maybe not enough room to run a hidden front mount so need either charge cooler or cut the bumper up.   16. Yea im not doing it for the most cheap or efficent option but so many turbos and rotrexs around these days nice to run something different. Its a popular swap on the mustang cobra also jaguars and a lot of mercs run eatons so they arent all bad.
  17. It can be done there are videos of cars on youtube with them. They are just not supplied bolt on. Someone on this forum also has one on his car. Most are mounted on the front and then the alternator is relocated. Also assuming the cars are never running A/C. There was one company that started to develop a kit as described above with it bolted to top of exhaust heat shield but belt routing was insane plus will heat soak load.   20. Supercharged hopefully, too many turbos around at the moment need to even up the numbers.
  21. Finally got around to cleaning the car up after getting it running again. Managed to get cam out by one tooth but luckily seems like I got away with it and no damage, so now running N/A with head gasket spacer in. Also gave inlet manifold and engine cover a spray up. Still a lot of work to do to get the engine bay tidy but waiting until boost. Here some pictures : Just need to swap my wheels now as these take too much to keep clean. Also need to upgrade from the mighty champiro tyres.
  22. My VR used to run really smokey but after a few weeks of gentle thrashing occasionally and an oil change it cleared up. Check the youtube videos for chain sounds if you think its top end as that will most likely be the cause.
  23. Wow car looks really clean and tidy, what made you get another mk3 , not fancy a change after your last one?
