  1. Don't know yet, might just nick Harry...
  2. Sorry mate! Use mk2 gti rear discs, same size, just 4 stud instead of 5. My bad....
  3. Just use vr rear discs as they should bolt straight upto the stub, but if not you may need to buy vr rear stub axles.http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-GOLF-MK3-STUB-AXLES-GTI-VR6-5-STUD-GENUINE-/220739261362?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item336515d3b2 The rear disc holds the rear wheel bearing, so get a pair of discs and 2 sets of bearings (1 set per side).
  4. If your still on rear drums then they need binning fella! Get some gti/vr6 rear brakes on the rear. If you wanted 312, will they fit under your wheels? You could get the discs re-drilled to 4 stud as i'm not sure if you can get 4 stud vag cars running 312 fronts.
  5. You might have knocked the main plug on the engine loom. Undo it anti-clockwise and pull it off, the refit it. Check all wires both sides of the plug. There are some earths on the back of the inlet manifold, check them, and also the connections on the back of the alternator and stater motor.
  6. They are BBS RX2's, found on the mk3 golf gti anniversary.
  7. Thats seriously quick wear! What oil are you using? Have you vagcom'ed your car to check for any other faults, like lambda? When you rebuilt your engine, what oil and how much did you use? Did you let the rings 'wear in', i.e keeping below 3500rpm for the first few miles?
  8. Looks mint fella! The gash along the passenger side looks painfull though..
  9. Check the wiring in the rubber boot between the door and the body.
  10. Does it take a long time to change gear? When was the oil changed? Is the level of oil correct?
  11. Good choice of car mate, it didn't take you long to start modifying it!
  12. I'd like to, but i need to sort some bits i'm not happy with (i've had too much thinking time!) and money's tight atm, but hopefully i'l get out in it this year. I just feel i've rushed some bits so i feel that now is the time to recify these issues.
  13. They vent to atmosphere, but aren't routed very well, so the easiest option (due to space) is to have them join into the downpipe.
  14. Right, the story so far... Sorned it last month due to being skint, and mot ran out on the 11th feb, so i thought its a good time to start sorting bits out on my car. So, hopefully sold my inlet manifold, which i had to take off the car, which meant the front end had to come off! Discovered a few bits that need sorting, like a leaking power steering hose, and the rocker cover weeping slightly. I'l start making inlet number 2 in the next couple of weeks, and i'd like to fit some slim-line fans, move the oil cooler, plump the wastegates into the exhaust, and add a few heatshields. Might even pai
  15. Won't fit a normal vr mate, sorry! You might have to carry a couple of jerry cans instead
  16. Looking good mate! They just need a charger to test them!
  17. VCDS is the upto date version of it, http://www.ross-tech.com/
  18. Yes, fuses are rated for a reason which relates to the current being drawn. Fans will draw alot of current, so require a higher rated fuse. That 30 amp fuse should be in the fuse box at position 19.
  19. Vagcom is diagnostics software which allows you to read read and clear fault codes etc.
  20. I don't think there is a relay in the car, but there is the fan control module in the engine bay. It should have a 20 and a 5 amp fuse in.
  21. Use a little grease to lube the o-rings on the injectors to help assembly. Thanks for the pic!
