I managed 62mpg on my remapped 150pd diesel from Burton on trent to Crawley
  4. I had them surface mounted right behind the windscreen tint firing across the dash at the opposite seat at head height, I didn't take any pictures but they lifted the bass up from the bottom of the doors. I think it gives better staging but its all trial and error what sounds good to me might not suit others . It was a kit similar to this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rainbow-DL-C6-3-Dream-Line-165-mm-3-way-System-with-100m-midrange-/281079148756?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item41719f70d4
  5. I had 3 way Rainbow components in the front of mine 16.5cm bass in the doors 10cm midrange in the dash and tweeters mounted by sunvisors high up on the a pillar With dynamat in the doors all amped by genesis 5 channel amp

  7. Wow nice to help but a record late response lol
  8. As above could have been just the sound of a very rattly chain .
  9. Best thing is to get some yellow film and cover them this was discussed for the golf a little while back as genuine ones are about £200 on French ebay or german ebay tint film is a far cheaper way of getting the same look.
  10. If you want 400bhp you need a turbo fitted
  11. Sorry I think you need a continuity tester and maybe remove the cover from the seat to determine if you can see a break in the pad.
  12. Welcome to the club but if advertising something for sale you need to add a price as per forum rules. Where are you located ?
  13. Youll need to know the size of the speakers your replacing. Go with something about 120-150watts if you going to amp them all otherwise 50watts then add a 12" sub . The sub will make the biggest difference
  14. Try jacking the car up under that wishbone so as fully stressed then buzz it with impact gun.
  15. I have a mk1 insured but not as laid up. If its taxed it must insured.
  16. Is the front scratch free? A clear picture of the actual item if possible. Deffinately interested Ok don't bother

  19. Think this question was answered a fair while ago and to be honest it would add very little if any thing. You would be better off selling and putting the money towards making your current setup better.
  20. Gets me why as a 1st post they cant say hi in the welcome section or heres a pic of my car but to post in an out of date thread adding nothing bugs me!!! saqlain1122 welcome to the forum get some pictures up of your car. Where are you from?
  21. I would imagine the easiest way would be to drop the sump off but I didn't think it was that hard unbolting rear mount and raising engine with a jack and a bit of wood under the sump.
  22. And your point is??? What is it with 1st time posters being knobs.
