  1. Is it only from cold? Does it start ok if you turn the engine off once its warm? Could be glow plugs if its only from cold.
  2. I have used them for some of my boost pipe. Have to say the quality is very good, compared to a lot of other silicone hoses, their hose is very strong and feels much more robust.. the finish isn't as shiny though as a lot of other silicone hoses, more of a matt effect. But cannot help with the water hoses, as i bought sections of hose and made my pipework fit, so unsure of how easy these water kits will fit.
  3. Weight will help get to 60, bit torque will help after 60. It would be more fun to do it over a drag mile I think especially if he's saying it'll beat it all the way to top end...
  4. Have you knocked the plug off the back of the alternator by accident while changing belt and pulley? or is the little wire that goes to it split.anywhere. As Tony said above, battery light on dash means its not charging so get that checked, and also again as Tony said, i would expect between 14.2 and 14.6v charge from a good alternator.
  5. And for F/I cars, use Bosch plugs for Audi TT 1.8T - engine code BAM. Or Bosch plugs for Audi RS4 2.7 Bi-Turbo plugs if you're feeling flush!
  6. A 2.5 minimum really for F/I, I built my own 3 inch stainless exhaust myself with one back box. I wouldn't go 3 inch 1 box with supercharger though as it'll be deafening, however a turbo will act as a silencer so can get away with 1 box on that.
  7. Also that's a very good price for full leather if it includes door cards etc
  8. I think so yea. I changed mine from cloth to leather.. not really noticed anything on handling etc, but picking them up by hand they are noticably heavier
  9. Sorry yea it is a Shitroen engine.. a big recall on the R56 mini's etc because of the water pump going. Worked on a few of the new ones and personally the new shape mini isn't a touch on the old one for build quality etc, heater dials feel cheap and nasty, interior doesn't seem as well put together either.
  10. Looks good actually.. wonder if they've fixed the self imploding water pump on these! Suppose that's what you get for using a Renault engine
  11. My phone automatically squashes it down so it all fits onto the screen in portrait.. HTC Sensation XE, just the normal android browser too :S I can see full width of the test box when typing a reply, or on a PM.

Oh.. and if you order the front ones.. they come with the VW logo moulded into the mud flaps already.

Yep.. done exactly the same.. my local VW said to me that there was an option for the badges however after a quick phonecall, turns out the badges are not made any more and they will not be able to get any in.. The holes are 52mm, but a 50 or 51mm diameter wheel centre cap will fit in. I had a couple of gel badges made up in black and white, that just stick in with self adhesive. not sure how long they will last, but are ok for now.
  14. As above, should fit no problem.. that is as long as you have the adapter to convert it from 2 bolt to a 3 bolt fitting.
  15. AutoData states 10Nm.. but don't have to be too accurate really.. if you have a new gasket, just nip them up, and a little bit extra. Just don't go mad with them.
  16. I believe you are meant to renew them as they are stretch bolts. Unsure of where to get them though other than the dealers.
  17. At slow speeds during 3 point turns I'd also check the CV joints. Wouldn't normally get a drop link or similar noise at that low speed, also check for any broken suspension springs as these can knock when driving, but depend how they break can knock at a standstill turning lock to lock.
  18. Don't really make a difference really.. just might be a little expensive to do all of then just for the sake of 1 playing up. You could also pull the ABS relay out to disable it, can't remember which number it is though.
  19. TPS are Trade Parts Specialist.. they have branches all over the place, so probably best have a search on the net for your nearest one. An aftermarket one from GSF or Euro Car Parts type retailer as said in the post above will be cheaper though. But worth a price from as many places as possible.

  21. Unfortunately, the heater matrix is a dash out jobby pretty involved to change really.
  22. Even though I was slightly off lol I should of known really as I built my own complete exhaust, inc me buying 2 bosses, 1 for ecu and 1 for wideband!
  23. Most O2 sensors are normally M14 x 1.5, but please get someone to confirm this. I changed an O2 sensor on a 4 motion last week, and also a Audi A3 3.2, and both very similar sensors.
  24. Nope.. probably a sensor.. My sensor has gone on mine, the hard vibrating pedal is just the ABS pump pulsing the system to stop the wheels from skidding. Basically because you have a dodgy sensor, it thinks one of the wheels is locked, so puts ABS on. You would also get it when pulling away or even just driving straight, this is most likely the traction control side of the ABS kicking in. You will need to get it plugged in to see which sensor it is. Before you change the sensor, make sure that all the teeth on the pick-up ring are all intact with no damage.
