  1. Get yourself a set of locks, ignition barrel, immo box and keys from a breaker. Once you've that all in you can adapt your ECU in Vagcom to to the new keys. Failing that and for something more permanent, remove the ECU, send it to United Motorsport and get them to do an immo defeat on it. Both options are a lot less than £170
  2. I've all the part numbers for BDE but could be different for AUE if thats what you have?
  3. Thanks Craig Thanks Matt, was looking at it last night thinking I'd be as well to route the oil return before any more downpipe activity so you've confirmed that. Also, the wastegate simply will not fit in the conventional position as in the first few photographs....this is due to the mk3 rear engine mount and the pipe having to be clocked a more of an angle than what it would be on a mk4. I can get a bend on the flange as in the last pic of the downpipe but am undecided as to whether to pipe the wastegate out to the right of the engine or under the exhaust manifold to the other side. Whole t
  4. Been tipping away at this as and when I can over the past while. Engine and box are now in and things are starting to gain some momentum. Subframe assembled with power steering rack and new Powerflex bush. Thanks to Michael for the help with this Some self adhesive heat shield in place on bulkhead panel. Lots more actual heat shields to fabricate later.. Notice main harness is also in, need to finish wrapping it once i'm finished fabrication of boost pipes etc Brake servo painted and reinstalled. Also renewed all the brake lines, ditched the ABS and fitted an inline brake bias valve. This
  5. Will be over for this so will have to meet up with some of you guys. Picking up a VR in Reading first to bring home via the Pod
  6. Awesome! Hopefully I'm not too far behind you lol
  7. ^^ I find that quite ironic going by your signature pic lol
  8. Agree with Matt also to be fair but it's hard to get away from the old VR6 engine when you're passionate about them! My friend has one of said 270hp mk5 GTI's running United Motorsport software....he spent £1000ish on exhaust, air filter and UM software and increased his HP from 200 to 270...to do this on an R32 you'd probablty be around £5k lol. Says it all really I suppose!
  9. I think you're going to get a somewhat biased opinion when asking that question on this forum lol
  10. Yeah I see what you did there ok but why did you cut the washers off in the first place? I woud prefer to retain the original ones as they snap back on and stay there.
  11. Bar using a press I can't seem to refit the big washer things that press onto the upper side of the front crossmember for my after fitting polybushes Have tried various different methods involving the vice and nut and bolt combo with different washers and plates etc. Last thing to try is a press if that's what it takes, either that or try fit it to the car but they still need compressed somehow to get the bolt started. Anyone any advice?
  12. Excellent! These old 24v turbos are going to be common as muck soon!
  13. If any of you guys fancy a weekend in Belfast, this would be a good weekend to do it. Whether you drive or fly, location is no more than 10mins away. In fact, if you sail over you will dock just up the port a bit from this One off event and worth making a weekend out of it! Well peeps, its been a while in the planning, but finally its all systems go for 'TITANIC DUBS'.... Being held at the world famous Thompson Dry Dock in the Titanic Quarter, Belfast, the exact site the Titanic was built..... An iconic venue for everyone... and a very rare opportunity to display your car directly around t
  14. Just wondering if it's possible to place an order or if there is an intention to restock the online store? Was going to order an XL black polo, a black hoodie in XL and an inside window sticker but there are none available? Thanks
  15. Ususally smoke under load is a sign of worn rings, smoke on the overun is valve stem oil seals. OIl cooler is also a possible source as suggested! If it has 80k + miles on it it will more than likely need a HG anyhow. Best do a compression test to see how it fairs
  16. Happy birthday for tomorrow Helen! You must have the lowest mileage on here....that could be a whole other thread lol
  17. PMSL!! You got that sinking feeling already?
  18. If anyone fancies a trip to Belfast for the weekend on 29th September we (GTINI) are running a very special show in the dry dock where Titanic was built. Will be an interesting day out with food and tour of the dock included in the £10 entry fee. Don't know if it's of any interest to anyone on here but thought it worth a mention
  19. I wondered how this happened under the radar lol. Last I heard you were talking front engine mounts!
