  1. I used small stillies n a lump hammer after soaking them in wd40 for a good while
  2. Rocker cover gasket most probably or could be a split in the breather from the rocker cover to the air intake hose
  3. I used a ring spanner on the head of the bolt and put a jack on the bolt. The end of the bolt is tapered so it wouldn't wreck the threads and I didn't cut myself either! Had to use this method on both sides of my car and on my brothers VR too when we poly bushed his.
  4. I spoke to a company called John Mitchell Racing and he said he used to do them but there are so many different variations of internal parts, he stopped rebuilding them.
  5. I've tried sls tuning but they told me I need to send it to RUF. I'd give it a go doing it myseld but last time I tried to strip it, I couldn't get the small pulley off the shaft or the bolt undone that holds the fan on. I might try whipping it off again and have a go in the garage. How would I find the right bearings and seals, etc?
  6. I had this problem once and it was a lambda sensor. I bought a second hand one off Ben Seabrook on here to try and sort a different problem and it cured my hot starting problem.
  7. vr's have the thicker arb. the thinner one is for the, err, 'lesser' models
  8. I cant really help too much then, im more about power n not lookin all that good...
  9. TPS? Discount too for premium members...
  10. theres 2 valves, one just to the right of the radiator at the top and one along the back of the engine bay near the expansion tank. There isn't a gas bottle as such for the gas. The aircon light will only illuminate when the heating switch is on. Possibly a fuse has blown?
  11. No, not quick enough. Ask a garage to give them a quick blast off for you
  12. Brake disc guard could be just touching the disc of its bent slightly. Craggsy had this problem a short while ago with someone's lupo
  13. http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/cht240-universal-hub-puller/path/automotive-hand-tools This would be the easiest solution. It took me about an hour to get my hub off the cv joint with a 4 stud hub extractor, a vice and numerous other garage bits!!
  14. As craggsy said above, you need a 19mm inlet on your catch can from the oil breather on the rocker cover. Vince @ Stealth changed mine when he remapped for the charger. What year is your car?? Early vr's have a 4 bar fpr...
  15. Anyone with vagcom can sort this out for you. You don't need immo key for the vr's so simple enough with genuine vagcom
  16. Is your cap blue?? The old black caps are a bit passed it now but you can get a blue one for under a fiver from VW
  17. Anyone know where I can get z-engineering zr2 supercharger rebuilt? Had no joy in contacting ruf-kompressoren.com
  18. That would most probably be me. Yours the Dragon Green VR?
  19. just depends on whether the car has air con or not. Thats the only difference.
  20. Might need plugging in and the original fault checking and clearing.
  21. sounds silly but have you got aftermarket door pins on?? I have wulfsburg pins on mine that look oh so pretty but when they're screwed right down, you can't get in or out of the car from either side. try unscrewing your door pins all the way and then screwing them on just a couple of turns. Lock and unlock the car from the front drivers door and see if it works. If it does, get yourself some threadlock from B&Q for around £1.99 n stick the pins in the required positions. Took me months to figure it out after fitting colour concept door cards!!!
  22. You need to reset the ecu to factory settings. Nothing to do with the clocks on a mk3
