Putting a abf in just to save fuel is pretty pointless. I had a mk3 16v and got a average of 27mpg on a trip to work with mixed stop start drink being sensible. In my mk2 vr it's 25mpg. But it's a dead easy conversion it involes searching eBay and finding a mk3 16v for under £500 there should be a few would save you loads of headaches

Think your mate would be lucky to get £500-600 tbh Guessing it's a 8v though

Agreed sell the passat either how it is. I'm sure by the sounds of it you could get a better vr for the money considering how much vr's have dropped in value over the last year. Break the black one for spares for the new one or some extra money. It would be the tapping putting me of fixing the black one vr engines aren't cheap to fix and getting a good engine second hand is always a risk.

How do you take it out. It doesnt seem obvious

Was it the holes that the aircon pipes went into ?? sounds like the expansion valve for the evaporator inside the dash. I would bung them upand leave it unless you fancy taking your dash out to remove the unit

feeling alittle peeved at the car at the moment busted my balls for it last week getting it a fresh mot in which it passed with no advisorys which is a first for any of my cars. But that good feeling lasted exacly one day. Will they fit over standard vr6 brakes without any issues or spacers having some issues on my mk2 with my bbs rm's and looks like I need to get some new wheels Cheers

Hmm just got refused a quote on a mk2 golf vr6 as the increase in bhp was to much from the original car didn't make much sence to me as it's a 2.8 on the log book has been for 3 years but my engine is modded to approximate 200bhp. Also said because I was 28 not 30 which again I don't understand. However the man Martin was very profressional

I dont know all the in's and outs here but I have a friend who makes fake profiles of women in think mainly on facebook which adventurey directs you to adult friend finder. Every time he gets some sap to sign up on there he gets $1 think he makes between £200-£400 a month. He used to do it before facebook as well. He showed me a msn profile he had set up and every time he signed "her" in the instant messages were so intense that it would crash the computer every time !! He does have alot of time on his hands!!
