Almost certain it was smoke, I've seen it overheat before so nothing as bad, just as if a little pixie was sat in the engine bay having a fag and blowing the smoke out of the front grill! But then it went....which was most odd!

Cheers for that. Will have another look then with engine running in daylight and see if I can spot any splits or anything. I'm also guessing it's a pain in the ar5e to replace as is everythin with these cars (I'm so not mechanically minded it's untrue! )

And was a bit worried...now I reckon my car needs an interim service (71k miles now and was prob last done at about 60k). Started the beast up tonight after work in the car park, and then cut out after say 5 seconds. Started up again ok tho. Got about 3 miles up the road and noticed whilst sat at the lights a wee bit of smoke from under bonnet...ohhhh sh1t...what can this be?? So, pulled over, opened it up, and could smell a bit of burning but couldn't see anything. Let engine run again for a few mins with bonnet open and couldn't see, or smell anything after that. Yup, I get this too occasionally and then just tickle the ol' pedal a bit, you will get the full kickdown effect sometimes and a kick in the back

Can I enquire..us northern types...are we all going to have a convoy down there cos effectively it's gonna take 2 extra days for us...will have to leave some time the day before and stay overnight in/near Dover and then getting back in the middle of the night on 24/3....will be zzzzzzzzzz falling asleep at the wheel! Which is what I may have done for a very split second last night as I managed to WHACK my o/s front alloy and make it poorly scratched...the bump sure woke me up though! Damn those middle of the road bollards with sticky out bits on them!!! Will book now anyhow!

FIXED!! May have been a dodgy connection or summat. Condensation keeps getting in there so I just wapped it all out, gave it all a wipe and now all back to normal and lovely! *feels dead clever for having fixed it all by herself *

What causes my left indicator to flash at 10x faster than normal? My right one is fine, but left one has gone bonkers. Is it a fuse/relay/some other dodgy wiring issue? Has never happened to me before. Not checked if it is actually flashing faster on the outside but it is on the dash. Ta!

Yup it is cancelled now, heard the other day. Shame! www.dubstock.co.uk Something to do with not being able to get a licence. We are sad to announce that this years DUBSTOCK has had to be cancelled. For the show we need a licence and we didn't get one for the new date after the date in July was washed out. We have been trying all ways to get Herefordshire Council to provide us with one, but they are saying that there isn't enough time. We send our apologies and are feeling really gutted, we wish there was a way around it, but if we go ahead we could get a £20,000 fine or 6 months in prison.

Holy crap! Been waiting for ££££s to land in my bank for days (damn you my employers!!) and I'm not going to be in funds till Mon/Tues...TYPICAL!! Canny book till then! Was also thinking "need to stay over in Dover" thing...don't fancy the overnight drive down there and awake all the next day! And the same on the way back...awake all day and 300 mile or so drive home at night! I'll be pooped as it is!
