If you look in the FAQ's I think it tells you how to reset your service counter, it's a bit of jiggling about with the trip meter button and keys in/out. Be VERY CAREFUL with your serpentine belt AND tensioner. Mine went on me the other week and cost £167 for the two to be replaced.....The belt itself is about £24 and if you know what you're doing, then get it sorted asap! 01 service is oil change/plugs blah blah and 02 service is the full monty AFAIK

Errr are there no pics of the drunkenness and debauchery from the Saturday camp-over??? Or are they not for public viewing? -
*almost faints in shock*...actually saw a VR6 in Manchester City Centre this evening on the way back to the car park...so if that was YOU in a LHD J reg blue VR6 near Sackville Street....? Doubt it was one of us tho, the car looked a bit of a mess, and as everyone on here looks after their beasties nicely...??? Ah well, my first Mancunian VR spot, hopefully more to come! And I now claim my £5. etc...

Ohh tell me about tracking! Mine's waaaaaay out..but can't get it done for at least a fortnight (money and time off work issues!) But I need a couple of new tyres too so will get it all done at once. My car is following every bump and blob of tarmac and it's doing my head in!

*bumpety bump* Any more takers? I know you lot are all probably 'festivalled out' but I fancy going and so do my mates from Zummerset (who will be bringing their Pi55rat Passat)...it's fancy dress...heroes and villains....?? Not tempting you any more? Go onnnnnnn...let's have a VR6OC stand, even if there's only just a few like at Tatton Park.

Nice! What paint did you use? Is it just Hammerite? Just curious as to what will withstand the heat of the engine bay.

*embarrassed*...best go look at my team as I've hit the bottom! Was doing ok for a week as well....when can we do transfers??? (mumbles....sodding Richard Dunne getting sent off....mumble mumble...gah...pah...etc...)

New to Golf Mk3 VR6 & problems on the 2nd day!
hellsVR6 replied to a topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
RE: insurance I believe you can persuade the insurers to give you modern classic insurance for the VR6. I didn't look into it myself as it's a daily driver and so would overdo it mileage wise. You can ask them for a classic policy given the car is no longer in production etc and as long as you do only x miles a year etc etc. My boss had this on his TVR (which he recently had to flog) and it was only about £200 p.a. -
I love those google map routes....turn left at France! And it says get on the Eurostar from Folkestone? Bet that costs a bomb? North West Convoy Member #2

Looks like a great time was had by all, and the sun was out which is more than can be said for round here. Would have loved to have popped down and also to VW Action as well...ah well maybe next year!

Makes no odds to me Craggsy! I still have to travel the 300 ish miles south to Dover whatever. I shall follow the rest of the gang regardless! And Pete, have read the story about your unfortunate incident and gutted for you. I've no intention of overdoing it, I'll be too scared!!

Just think it might be easier sailing there rather than France. Which let's face it, it smells funny there...haha..

Bejaysus! Has that second one got a nitrous kit on it or something? Sounds like a fookin jet engine! And as for the first one....oh how I love to p1ss off BMW drivers...hehe...outstanding!

Nice, another black stealth model just like mine ...unusual interior though if you don't mind me saying? Is it just the light or is that a funny shade of petrol blue? Not seen that before.

Hmm ok have been reading up on this a bit. Most important things first. So Adenau is near Bitburg. So we know what we will all be drinking for the whole time! (Yay! Bitburger!) Is it too early to start thinking at all or am I just getting over-giddy? It's only six months off you know! lol Is it worth sailing to Belgium (i.e. Ostend or somewhere) instead of doing the Dover/Calais thing and then can whiz straight through Belgium? Tell me off if I'm jumping the gun etc...I've got the idea in my head of going now...heehee!

Ok sounds mental and it probably is! After my 'incident' in the North East the other week I have now managed to put my car back together, i.e. have replaced the grilles on the front and the bumper spoiler. But when I had picked it up from the garage I noticed a wire hanging down with a small sort of grey square type plug on the end. I was sure it had been disconnected from somewhere as it was so obvious at the time what with all the front trim missing. The guy at the garage said "oh it's your outside temp sensor so it's ok". But I can still see it even though I've left it. I'm not convince

Nope, you are best sticking them on Photobucket or Imageshack and then sticking the url in like this: [img ]url of your picture [/ img] but make sure there are no spaces in the brackets, just have to do that to stop it thinking I am posting a pic! Oh and unlucky with the crash pal, but at least YOU are still alive even if the car isn't! And get your next car insured FULLY COMP!
-
Much cheapness!! I looked at their site the other day, sailing is about 0700 so may be doing a Dover type stopover the night before then unless we are going for a later sailing, i.e. 11am.

Well have just read the whole thread for the first time from start to finish, and JK, you have the patience of a saint! I don't think I'd have got through all that trauma without slitting my wrists much much earlier! One breakdown and a near enough £200 repair bill has frightened me already and have only had my VR since late July! I know it's all part of the fun of ownership though, we have to keep the VDubs alive, it's our mission!
