  1. Just had to drill some holes.. then bolt it down.. bit tricky getting my hands under the arches but other than that was fine. It does help the front end out.. turns in that bit more sharper and the 'roll' is less when turning into corners... plus brightens up the engine bay a touch
  2. I agree.. wait till the summer shows have calmed down,. then one weekend.. just pick a place between brum and stoke (where everyone seems to be).. and jave a few jars...
  3. yes.. i just bought one from ebay.. £30 i think.. works a treat... [lightbox=../../e107_files/public/1187174009_4477_FT189148_engine_detail1.jpg][/lightbox]
  4. Get it re-trimmed.. costs about £1000 to do front and back seats.. door cards..
  5. FRom what I have heard, I think it is just the calipers and maybe some spacers....
  6. Just paint it with it still on.... use some hammerite.. stuff that withstands high temperatures...
  7. Forgive me if I sound old.. but where is B'ham tracks? I'm up for a meet in Brum someplace.. preferably near a pub...!
  8. You not on about the DDI gauges are you?
  9. Nice one... I did my TT alloys aswell... but sprayed them black.. like you said.. just takes time and alot of cleaning/de-greasing.. I have recently done small marks on my Mini Cooper alloys... and found this silver laquer spray a good match for the OEM alloy... http://www.einszett.co.uk/products_einszett_wheel-tyre.htm
  10. I've read on the-corrado.net forum about someone who did this conversion in the rado VR6 (do a search on the rado forum)..
  11. If you got them at a decent price just take them and work out how to fit them after! I did with my porker brakes
  12. Just get it checked and changed if your going to sell it.. my local vw garage changed my rear sensor for £50 inc parts/labour
  13. I wanted to get this done on my VR6.. but my local garage advised me not ot.. so i just went and bought a full system...
  14. Stick to a panel filter mate and just de-restrict the original air-box.. best all round solution..
  15. Eye.. thats the one mate.. one of the plastic lugs of this had snapped off so had water pissing out of there... when i went to change it.. the oil cooler pipe thats attached toit was perished so replaced that aswell..
  16. I've had the water-rail and oil cooler pipe replaced on mine as they had perished over time and were leaking like mad. Alsom my thermostat housing still leaks ever so slightly...just top it up every few weeks..
  17. I agree.. I've done this since I was 17 and passed my test. Went to a scrappy and got a proper banger... think it was a 1.0 metro.. never actually took the car.. left it there... but just paid for insurance.... When I got to 22 (finished uni)... I bought a 220 Turbo (they were ok back then).. and only paid £998 fully comp through endsleigh as I was still blagging I was a student...
  18. I'm too with elephant.. think mine is about £330... that is in the misses name (car is also inher name).. and i'm name driver. We are both 30 with full NCB and with a few kids. I have had to make one claim with elephant, and I found there 'email' system ok. I was able to upload pictures of the incident, the road etc.. might have helped

    Leather re-trim

Someone else at GTI FEST mentioned MJ INteriors to me.. but they based up north..
  21. I had several main stream garages refuse to do my arches becuase they couldn;t guarantee the finish would be left smooth and 'ripple' free... local garage man did it for £100.. folded and sealed up... , but that was it.. no cutting business....?
