  1. more the merrier.. any VAG car will be welcome..
  2. so... shall we stick with Oldbury then... J2 of the M5.. Toys-R-Us car park...?
  3. Halesowen sides... not close.. but not far...
  4. could it be one of your sensors isn't working within scope and allowed ur car to overheat...and then u got the subsequent problems..?
  5. So far we got : 1. Toy-R-Us - Oldbury - Junction 2 M5 2. Somewhere in Solihull Shall we try and decide..and that will hopefully generate more interest...
  6. What about around monkspath.. fair bit of stuff round there.. big open car parks.. isn't there a new harvester pub there aswell...?
  7. Your on about skooldropouts (http://www.skooldropouts.co.uk)... there another friendly bunch.. I sometimes meet them up aswell.. they might be doing one on that night aswell...
  8. Solihull is nice and posh... would they allow more than 2 cars to park up in a public venue? I was thinking star city as it off the motorway and people can get there.. but maybe a bit tacky....?
  9. I know several threads about local 'brum' meets have been discussed and they usually don't materialise... so I'll try again... My suggestion is Toys-R-Us car park, Off J2 M5.. or other end of Wolverhampton Rd. There is a maccies there if anyone gets hungry.. it's illuminated.. easy to get to..? Weekday time around 8pm.. possible date Wed 21st... I'll leave it open to pick some dates/times/locations... but lets keep it to November.. and possibly a weekday.. obviously weekends people got stuff to do and football to watch.
  10. Pipercross in mine... wash it every month and then use a little of the spray on it..been fine for over a year... I also took the trumpets out the airbox and the funnel on the front that goes into the wing.. just gives that little ggrrrrrr when u can't help flooring it...
  11. Just check that it matches yours i.e ODB1 or OBD2... up to 1995 is OBD1 and post 95 is OBD2..
  12. Did you spray WD40 over the connectors/electrical plugs after the jet wash to force any water out...?
  13. Euro car parts.. GSF.. shouldn't be that much... try VW.. you might be surprised....
  14. Garage smacked mine on a code reader (i got my own aswell).. no codes were showing. They had to race back and scope some sensors.. when they got to the crank position sensor.. I tried the others myself.. but in light of the changes i made and the garage car feels amazing.. it's as if it's got a new lease of life.. so much more responsive..!
  15. German Ebay.. paypal them and job done.. ordered some myself..
  16. Have you tried removing and trapped air...? Start the car.. turn the heater fans on full blast.. leave the expansion bottle lid off (keep a bottle of water handy).. wait till the air starts to come warm out the vents.. check the water levels.. and stick the lid back on..
  17. If I got it right.. it tells the computer what the engine temperature is so that optimum driveability is realized while the engine is warming up and when the engine has reached operating temperature. If it's cold the automatic choke kicks in to stop the engine stumbling/hesitating by keeping the revs high and increasing the fuel/ignition.
  18. I had mine on a code reader. didn't show a thing...!

    airbox

what mods you wana do to it?
  20. Mine did it but wouldn't startup again until 15min later. I tried: Fuel additive/cleaner (£5) Fuel Pump Relay (£10) Camshaft Sensor (£40) Ended up being crank position sensor, cost me £100 to replace it from specialist - a bit steep but gave me 1yr warranty on it.
  21. Only A4 I would buy is an RS4... I'll buy that later when I'm about 35!
  22. I've enquired about the chip... £299 and gives 220bhp and 470 lbs torque and more fuel economy as the power comes lower down in the revs... tempting... surprisingly.. insurance was only an extra £100 ontop of what i've already paid for the VR6...
  23. Sorry.. thats the mileage.. done alot in 5 yrs... almost as much as my 10yr VR... but I've heard these "German" engines are solid *touch wood*
