do you want to fabricate or bolt on? Rotex is a way forwards for that number and you need to read the threads on here.. Otherwise.. Bolt on for the VF engineering system... Personally I would suggest you think about a turbo set up for the 300bhp+ mark.. There are quie a few threads on here about it... ....But you'll have to spend £10 and become a premium member for the how to guides... worth it for the 15% saving on your insurance alone...
  7. only comment is you need the idler pulley to add to your charger set up (maybe?) remeber there may be a time when the sun comes out and you need it or you (god forbid) decide to sell up... ps mocal can go in a couple of places so not an issue with the air con rad anyway.. check out the charger FAQ threads and you will see a discussion on locations in there.. ... PS sorry to hear about the stone after all this effort to have it working...
  8. Like he said .. I also agree on the 205 aspect... just for clarity...as the inch goes up the depth of the tread comes down and this will affect the handling of the car which is why fully adjustable suspension is needed when you fit different sizes of wheels.. It can make it terrible handliing and braking... so if you like 205/45/15 205/40/16 205/35/17.. these are not the actuals to run (I cant remember them off the top of my head) as you need to ensure the rolling radius remains the same and as you said thats in the premier membership section... But if you're serious about increasing the pe
  9. assuming you want to keep your rolling radius the same so your speedo is correct it's more important to reduce the weight... there is a link on here in the members section that lets you compare the wheel and tyre combinations radius to gain a little but overall the final drive/gear ratios is the thing... (or FI)
  10. Service service service.... oh and has it been serviced - haldex that is... A good giveaway is 4 tyres of even wear all around and the same make.. take a tread wear thinggy because it is a haldex it is a little harder to spot issues as you dont get that old fashioned transmission catch up... so if you have clunks etc and it doesnt feel like it is coming in properly - it is an issue and wont be cheap by default.. find a road with potholes (not to big)/uneven surfaces/manhole covers -= aim for them and as it loses traction you should feel it operate in a seemless way. one extra thing is - if you
  11. you seem to have had most of the solutions... the only thing to do and keep your set up is heat or you can get a set of threads known as easy outs but that is a little extreme and there is nothing easy about them... most people will know them as a stud remover for when you sheer off a bolt... The main thing everyone has to do here and it is worth its' weight it to pre soak for a while with a releasig agent for at least 24hours before hand to let it penetrate down the threads.. Unfortunately it is a common issue and you tend to have to dig them out... You cant get an impact in there can you???

  16. Sorry you feel that way mate... There are some very detailed threads on here where people have discussed this option to get what that individual wants out of it.. In addition there are how to discussions... some of them are, of course, only available to the Premium members. As with all search functions... crap in crap out.. so please take some time to work through the pages of threads a simple "Turbo" search will throw up. Alternately pop along to one of your local meets and have a chat with the chaps(esses) there and they will be more than happy to discuss things with you.. Finally as I am
  17. Ahhh I suffered that... may I suggest you pop the panel off and insert a Piece of wood to hold it up whilst you get the new mech... worked for me...

I dont know if the pedal box and the servo's etc are the same... so some one else will pop on shortly and tell ya' there have been a few builds done that way so may be worth a search and then have a read and pm them with any specifics you have.... Good luck and post away as you build

  24. Having suffered my road journeys over the last days since the kids are back... Today seemed to be the official they're all back and the numptys are back on the road... I have an expensive (or Not) car and I need to sit in any lane on the motorway I choose at the speed I choose whilst on the phone swaying around in the lane.... and then I suppose changing my speed again and again and again.... Then get angry as people carve him up and he then speeds off only to be overtaken again in 5 minutes only this time in another lane... DUDE... if people are doing motorway speed on the inside lane and fli
