  1. i thought that about the exhaust, but when i made 327 bhp.. it was with a hacked cat..and a standard size exhuast system that had been cut and welded to remove boxs and put bends in.. i wouldnt mind chnaging it but.. thats for another day.. i quite fancy a 3" system , but i just cant have it boomy.loud as i take my little girl out in it.
  2. you can do as it gonna be apart.. thats assuming the rest of the engine is good.
  3. kev, i thought you didnt race evo's ..i saw you as a more of a bmw rep mobile man. this time of the year , i cant even beat a nova of the line. i can however torque steer into him
  4. got myslef a miltek exhaust on it now, much quiter and more stock sounding...got a bit of a rev problem..but i think thats down to the gap in my plugs. as i did drop two on the floor, so ill have them out tommorrow and regap to .22 which is what thy have been at. then at some point in the new year. im gona look at either a c2 soloution or standalone, im leaning towards the later as i prefer to get something out of it , if ya no what i mean.
  5. thx kev..tbh its been blowing since a track day..worst thing is..first time round , it was me not doing up a bolt that caused it to blow..then i had two studs snap off in the head..so i put a spare head on and thats were im at now. took the heat sheild off today, and you can see a very small crack between the ports , and im somehow missing a nut on the turbo/downpipe flange, plus its blowing on the compressor housing.. still at least i no what im looking at now..i no a man who can weld the manifold, and im gonna locktight, wire lock all the turbo nuts.. so hopefully that should sort it.. tis
  6. lol.. its my manifold minus the gaffer tape
  7. i hope not to need another one.. as the downpipe and wastegate are fabbed foir mine.. its a small crack..and to make it worse it sblowing at the turbo / downpipe flange and i think ive lost a bolt fro the compressor housing..hence the weezing asthmatic sound it makes its coming off in the next few days and will be off the road till its sorted.. which should be a few weeks..
  8. well , looks like you can add another to the list..my exhaust manifold ( a stainless teel spa unit) has a crack in the weld between 2 ports.. luckily i think it can be brazied/rewelded.. and thank god i have a v band on the car, at least i dont have to drop everything to get it off. bit of a bummer though.. jim
  9. yep may have a b'fast if its smooth enough... even gona by a new sat nav with new europran maps on.

  11. same for me, got a price back around 37 quid return.. well happy with that.. lets hope for a smooooooooooth crossing, not the roller coaster one we had last year
  12. 32.80 ??? thats cheap..it must have gone up , coz when i checked on the net..it worked out around 40 quid
  13. well it seems its NOT the fpr.......... gonna have to look at the maf readings again. maybe since ive fitted the miltek its flowing better.. dunno . bit fucked off to be honest.. i get it runnign spot on , stick anew head on to sort the exhaust blow, and now this.. gonna check all the basics , like spark etc.. its a very voilent cut, like the old fuel cut on a mk1 gti, but if you keep your foot planted it doesnt pull out of it. i put money on it its the maf maxing out. as its the only thing left that can cuase this fault bugger and arse
  14. just rewired it all , and fitted another fpr so , well see if it cures it.. seems to idle alot better though.. but a road test will tell
  15. a washer !!! shit i didnt know that.. so does that mean i over tightned it when i fitted it ?
  16. ben have you tried a industrial bearings place.. i mean bearings are bearings
  17. it is, but its getting expensive.. fitted my walbro pump today , so at least i can fuel upto 500bhp.. shame the fpr cant hack it. hey when do you want that spare head
  18. go for a small lip one like on the boot of the beemers. the vento one dont suit it tbh...
  19. well, it seems another fpr has bit the dust.. car is back to having no top end pull and a viscous stutter. ive only had this one on since october..but its exibiting all the same stuff it was , when it was faulty. this is a sytec unit, so i had hoped it wouldnt do this.. it also says alot for the chip and injectors route. im gonna give storm a ring monday and get it swapped under warrenty. and hope it soves it. tis a shame, as ive just stuck my spare head on, miltek exhaust and a few other goodies.. ive checked plugs, and everything else, no fault codes, except the occasional air flow meter o
  20. lol, i dont ebven get that with my tubo'd vr.. i stil get a averga of 28 mpg around town.. id get it on vagcom and start checking sensors..or the timing.. they should pull clean and well to the limiter, with some urgency about them..if they aint you have a problem
  21. DO NOT get bosch super platinums... complete waste of money and very expensive..ive always used ngks or denso's (although no denso's on the vr as yet)
