  2. yeah i agree with craig, although..ive lodge a dispute with barclaycard just incase.. its a shame, as it offers a good service, but you cannot escape the taxman
  3. speedferries are in LIQUIDATION.. not good.. this mat throw a spanner in the works
  4. i run 3", i did some reading and worked out it would be ok for me.. most run 2.5"

  6. another update, ive ordered a carbon fibre airbox thingy, which is here now, im also hoping to get a new (secondhand) stainless exhaust .. then ive gota make a up a lambda loom, im also when funds allow next year gonna , take a trip to stealth or maybe go standalone.. for a proper remap..
  7. yep, just had to take mine off beacuse off a loose stud in the head, and ive gone and snapped another one off because of the fitment off the manifold..ill be making the others a bit bigger, to ease fitment when i put it back on. intrestingly my gasket does'nt line up excatly on all the ports.. mines a spa unit in stainless, for those that are intrested.
  8. yep snap, my heads gotta come off to be helicoiled as two of my exhaust studa have snapped... oh and we could do with speedferries resuming there service

  10. btw, the car was being used daily up until that point, and was cheaper to run than the wifes vectra v6
  11. well, quick update exhaust had been blowinfg for some time..as one of the studs in the head decided it wasnt going to tighten. so when i went to remove it yesterday, two more snapped off in the head luckily for me (i hope) there should be just enough to get a stud extractor on, if not the heads gotta come off blah blah blah.. im also gonna tidy up the wiring and see why the wastegate aint doing what it should, i may even order a new spring and then use a mbc to get the desired boost.. all in all though, the engine itself is fine..did a 14.1 at the pod with wheelspin in the first 3 gears..so

    my mate also hgas the cams in a n/a golf , and its deffo quikcer and thats before a remap

  17. well ive just brought thw wifey a mk4 gti , non turbo.. its quite nice.. not gonna set the world alight performance wise..but a nice size increase over the vr..93000 miles on a v plate best part it was 1000 pounds..need a few bits but should have it all sorted for around 1300 quid.
  18. drivers side mate, make sure you change the ring as well, as these can go iffy, causing intermitant faultgs
  19. lowered the compression using a spacer plate, works well and did'nt cost the earth transmission is holding up fine, and at the mo so is the clutch..although i reckon its on the edge of what a standard unit can take.. ive got a few vids from a recent track day , just gotta put them into small clips..which ill do soonish
  20. what management you running..or are u runing a rising rate fmu?
  21. it still has boost , but has more leaks than boost at the mo.. still im hoping to sort it this weekend
