The part I think yuor'e on about comes from the cylinder head and connects to the air intake just before the throttle body,correct me if I'm wrong. I bodged mine for a while, until I run out of plastic to connect to the rocker cover and had to buy another. I cannot remember seeing a copper wire anywhere. Where exactly has yours broke?

I had those on my mk2 16v and they were really good, probably better than magnecor, and slightly cheaper. I did have some problems with them at first, but it turned out it was the dizzy cap. Put a new cap on and it ran mint, a lot better throttle response compared to the standard leads . Only reason I didn't put them on the vr was the thickness. You could tow a car with them, they're that thick!

Sounds very much like what happened to mine Neil. Is the coolant coming from the overflow as well? Have a look under the expansion tank, if its wet there it'll be from your header overflow. You can either get the cylinders compression tested or the coolant pressure tested, either way should give you a good idea if its the head gasket. Any signs of mayo on the oil cap or dipstick could also mean coolant contaminating the oil (if an excessive ammount,a tiny bit is nothing really if the car doesn't get used much). Its semi-synthetic what the garage that done the head gasket put in. Think its Valvolene. Thought i'd leave it in for a bit to flush the engine a bit then change it. The engine sounded fine at the weekend, then on monday rattling its bollocks off.The last 2 owners had only used fully synthetic oil, so was thinking if changing back to synthetic but don't think it would make any difference, judging by the noise.

I noticed a really loud rattling from my tappets the other day, about a minute after it had been started from cold. After about another minute it went off. Then when the engine was hot I popped the bonnet for a look and even while idling the tappets were really noisy and noisier when revved. I think the probability of every tappet failing at the same time would be the same as the odds of winning the lottery, so I am thinking maybe the oil pump is shot. I recently had a new head gasket fitted and was running mint when I got it back, but I'm thinking maybe the excessive amount of coolant in my o

Don't know if this applies to alloy wheels, but it is definitely illegal to weld steel road wheels to repair them and could find it difficult to find anyone to touch them. But this is just from my personal experience, maybe a friend of a friend might know someone

Eurocarparts do one for just under £40,. Suppose it's always a handy spare to have,but would rather have £40 in me pocket. :| If it isn't the culprit that is! -
No Kat, you just have taste. Must admit have got into Black Label Society and just heard some of Zak's solo stuff, well impressed. Only thing is, it's very hard to drive normally to proper music, especially the title track of REIGN IN BLOOD . A love racket me!
