  1. you shouldnt go anymore than 30mm with the standard shocks. any lower and uprated shocks need to be fitted.
  2. any reason why the towing eye is connected.......?!
  3. i ll try and get a pic for you. yeah the handling is certainly better. feels more stable, better on roundabouts etc, it just doesnt "wallow" like i found it used to. if your really keen then i recommend shocks and springs. but im more than happy with just springs. done 120 5up and no scrubbing at all.
  4. is it possible to get a gearbox built to syncro spec? theyre 6 speed arent they? just remembered theyre 4 wheel drive ignore that i just reread Dubsinghs post.
  5. yep like that! i ve seen it....what have they done?????! they spoilt it
  6. i ve got just 30mm springs with the standard bbs wheels doesnt ride like it would with uprated shocks and springs but it is noticably stiffer. i done it for the ride height looks so much better! it now looks how the vr should of when it came out of the factory. not with a ride height of a 4x4!
  7. i think the only good thing about the mk5 R32 is that it will make the mk4 R32 cheaper. is the mk5 gti 4wheel drive?
  8. so whats the idea behind it? using the card we use only 1 type of filling station therefore getting discounted fuel? when using the pipeline card.
  9. (monocoque) he must of been doing some serious speed!
  10. i had a 205 with a big fibreglass front bump, drove that thru a flood and it took the bumper off completly!!
  11. ouch that is blue! mines a 94 with blue interior, i hate it, but didnt think it was as blue as that! the seat pattern is different as well.
  12. is that a chick in the silver golf? a vr?
  13. the car may not reach its proper running temp with the thermostat removed poss causing the cold start injectors to continue running so your engine will run rich.
  14. all the oil filler and surrounding area is dry. checked plugs and they are ok, not over tightened. could just be 1 of those things? cheers lads.
  15. if the head has been rebuilt then new valve stems would of been fitted. after 132k the rings could well be worn!

heck yeah! i saw an episode where she was driving or should i say thrashing a tvr, she was loving it! a girl who loves cars, bikes and going super fast......my ideal woman 8)
  17. oh yeah...like them a lot!
  18. brilliant, mk4 r32 prices soon to drop.....ace!!
  19. the clutch servo works off the master cylinder. if your slave cyclinder is leaking then you will lose pressure and the clutch wont operate properly.
  20. i hired a 55 reg corsa sri for work once, done about 200 miles in it that day and could not wait to get back in the vr! i was shocked how after 11 years the vr can still feel smoother, tighter and more comfortable than a brand new car!!!!
  21. i dunno, im with slim on that 1. max power done a feature on a mk4 polo (pre facelift) modified by venom. it had a vr6 engine in it, that was awesome.
  22. i ve just removed the HT leads from cyclinders 4 and 6 and discovered a pool of oil sitting at the bottom of each spark plug! numbers 1, 2, 3 and 5 are all dry. i checked the rocker cover seal and thats dry as well as the cylinder head itself. plugs seem tight but will get a socket on them to make sure. any1 else had this problem? know where it could be coming from. any help greatly appreciated.
  23. im an audi fan thru and thru so would say definately an RS2. but if youre waiting for 1 to come up than you maybe a long time waiting, theres only a hand full in the uk. plus, could you sacrifice a hothatch for an estate?! and a charged vr wouldnt leave an RS2 standing, vice versa!
  24. if a decent RS2 came up i would say have it, definately. i like the mk2 gti, theyre fun and forgiving when driven hard but i wouldnt sacrifice the vr for 1. nor an R5. maybe as well as the vr but never instead of.
