  1. no worries will be up well early, ill be well excited- its my first time taking a car to the rollers. Just hope my engine doesnt blow up
  2. 3M manufacture a finishing material called "Finesse-it" designed for use by machine or hand to remove haze or swirls. Or as an alternative Farécla G10 extra fine grade super finishing liquid compound suitable for 2 pack, Removes swirl marks and smears particularly on dark colours. My mates a valeter This stuff is hard to get hold of and ive never bought it myself (but im going to) but ive seen it being used and it does the trick!!! try this site: http://www.d-m-s.co.uk/products02.html
  3. coooool!!! What time will you be leaving?? I live just off junction 14 M5, so can meet you their in a layby or something, then drop by Worcester to pick up Clive and dubloke. Sounds like a plan!!! like the thought of a VR6 convoy!!
  4. Yeah that sounds cool m8- What time does it start, and what time do you plan on leaving?
  5. Cant wait for Forza Motorsport- got the demo and it is awesome!!!!! And its got an R32 in it!!! :)
  6. nice car m8. like the colour, thats not a VW colour is it?
  7. Yeah its awesome but i prefer german engineering After all Ferrari is owned by Fiat :-)
  8. I recently had a Nissan Almera which i got rid of. After driving a VR6 for thirty seconds - i had to have another - really nice and smooth to drive, make sure you get the right car- getting a shonky one will cost you lots of money and cause loads of heartache!!! You get what you pay for as they say :-) IMO Try and go for a post '96 car if you can afford it. Seen an 96 N plate 3dr bright red 75k on the clock, completely standard with full S/H go for 3200 quid recently. It looked mint! I wanted it badly but couldnt sell mine in time- it went after 2 days of being on sale. Anyone here buy that c
  9. Yeah thats the one, also kept up with the lambo round the track mind you!!!
  10. Is anyone travelling from Bristol/Gloucester on the sunday and know their way?
  11. Have many other people had problems with there coil pack? maybe ive just been unlucky?
  12. here you go Mick - heres a link with a brief desciption (about half way down the page) http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/vw%20golfmk3/engine.html
  13. i dunno m8, ive had 2 VR6's my first i had the coilpack changed and this VR6 had it changed 10k ago
  14. porsche GT3...yum yum
  15. could be your coil pack. Its quite a common fault. Sounds silly, but have the plugs been changed?, if yes then it probably is the coil pack. I had to have mine changed on my old VR6- it started missing slightly, low down the rev range. Expensive to replace- around 250 quid from VW. You should be able to get the ignition pack checked though, to make sure it is faulty before paying out all that money!!!
  16. Loks well mint m8!!! Wish mine looked that nice How much did you pay?
  17. Where did you get the leads from? I had a similar problem when my leads were replaced (eurocarparts) As the leads arent easy to seat anyway thwe shape of these made it even harder. Ended up taking each one off while running to find the offending one and then reseated it firmly and it works fine- sounds like you have a similar problem- especially as it was fine before.
  18. Hi dubgirl, ive decided to go for it, gonna feel a bit shameful as my front arches are horribly rusty though!!! so no piss taking can i have the full address and post code please.
  19. shrick are a manufacturer for various tuning parts manifolds cams etc etc. They do a rather lovely bespoke inlet manifold for the VR6- which a few of the very luck members on this site own. Can boost BHP and torque by about 10 a piece so im told. Any owners got a tale?
  20. 3 weeks since i bought the car ive had front wheel bearing changed, inner cv gaitor changed, new leads, new plugs, oil and filter change, new headlamp, and bought a K&N filter. Probably cost me 300 quid- and theres more to come!!!!!!!!!! My wallet is being raped at the moment - the mrs aint happy!
  21. The E36 looks sooo dated now though, v. rare car mind- ive got a m8 who will want that car so bad!!! swear i can see a burberry cap on the back seat though
  22. What about a Bugatti Veyron, may as well go stratospherically out of my budget 1000 BHP and some stupidly fast 0 - 100mph times. Anyone seen any clips?? or know of any mpegs floating around? Im thinking it'll make dialynx's Audi Quattro look like a bus!! (after they suss out what to do with brakes and handling ) Out of the Audi and the Monaro- that 6 litre jobs got to be more of a grin than the Audi - especially with RWD, just a shame it feels like a 2 door Vauxhall Omega inside!
  23. Cheers for the comments guys. The car already had it when i bought it so i cant say what the before/after difference was like. I can say that it feels very different to my old VR (which only had a SS exhaust + 57i kit. This seems to have less torque low down but feels rapid higher up the rev range, when keeping it on the boil it seems to feel much more potent. Im probably going to take it to the rolling road day to find out how well (or how bad!) its running.
  24. That seems a little high Mick, my current VR oil temp sits at about 92 degrees - v occassionally 94. It was roughly the same on my old VR. Might be worth you getting this
