  1. Thanks matt - can't wait to get them on when the weather's better (they've been sitting in my garage since October!) Sorry Slim but unfortunately I don't think either of us will be the only ones running them this year - there seem to be far too many sets knocking about on vw forums (we do at least live a long way away fromeach other ) Didn't take any pics of the rear really (only got as far as fitting one wheel, it was freezing that day!). This is the best i can do: TBH - i thinked they'd look better if the rears were are bit wider - because of the offset (et41 + 20mm adaptors = et21) the
  2. Try the german RH website http://www.rh-alurad.de/indexen.html most of it's in English
  3. These are what I've got waiting to be fitted when the weather's better. I got H&R 20mm adaptors which are the thinest you can get - giving an effective offset of 21mm. It's going to need the arches rolling but fills them nicely (mines only lowered 40mm)
  4. I've been told that Storm Development do some custom adaptors: http://www.stormdevelopments.co.uk/
  5. Cheers I'm looking for somewhere that'll do a good job. Heard some bad stories. I tried fitting one of my wheels at the weekend and it looks like they might rub by the rear bumper bracket... Any idea how they get round this, or am i worrying about nothing?
  6. It's not too difficult just a bit fiddley. Undo the clips at the top of the grill (there might be some screws too i can't remember) Then release the lower clips - one each side, under the headlights, in the gap between the top of the bumper and the bottom of the metal lower part of the grill. These can be a bit of a pain to release, i used a long thin flat-head screwdriver (wrapped in a bit of rag to prevent scratching the bumper) Don't confuse the lower clips with the clips that hold the metal panel to the grill - like i did! %-6 You should see the clips you need to release if have a look w
  7. Can anyone recommend anywhere to get arches rolled in the Wiltshire, North Somerset, Bath and Bristol area? I'm looking for somewhere that'll do a quality job or i think i'll have to take it to Style Dynamix in London.
  8. Measuring arch to floor would be best, but as you say you would need a level floor - i'd say measuring the tread, as you've done, is the best alternative. Just get your geometry sorted and that should solve your problems

    arm rest

2nd'd ... step away from the armrest
  10. Good point mate, maybe it would be better to get a good bodyshop to do it instead. Any idea how much they charged you to roll your arches? (if you can split it from the spraying costs)
  11. I was thinking of getting an arch rolling tool from http://www.frost.co.uk/item_Detail.asp?productID=9108 and doing it myself - you need to heat the paint before rolling. It sounds easy enough to do but do you recon its a bad idea if you don't have plastic arch covers? The only reason i'm even considering doing it myself is i've seen the work of some so-called "professional" arch rolling at bodyshops - personally i don't consider the use of lump hammers very professional x)

    arm rest

Someone was selling these at e38. But they used some sort of metal A-frame to fix them - which didn't look good. I'm sure i've seen cabrio's and late/highline vr's (larger style handbrake trim cars) with a small arm-rest that fits to the console as standard.
  13. What wax would everyone recommend using on polished rims? I've heard good things about zymol (not sure which type) My BBS are looking nice and shiney at the mo and i'd like to keep them that way + anything that'll help make them easier to keep clean has got to be a bonus
  14. That'd be Christmas shopping time in Bath then. It's not normally that bad
  15. Jon, are you moving away from the 'evil' look hella quads at the front?
  16. Yeah, think it came out in shops last week (not that many stock it !sad )
  17. Wouldn't be my first choice of colour either, but its definitely different. Wasn't he asking for about £6k in PVW ?!
  18. New relay is about £40 from vw - I'll post the part no. later if anyone needs it
  19. It's a nice looking car. It's not had many changes made too it (by mag standards!) but the fresh paint and wheels just give it something. PS. usual misuse of Highline Spec in description! !grr
  20. You should be able to separate the caliper and carrier off the car. Give the bolts a spray with wd40 (or similar) first to help losen them if they're a bit siezed. You'll need to find some way to firmly clamp the claiper/carrier while you undo the allen bolts. I'd recommend using allen sockets rather than keys, much easier to undo brake bolts with a bit more leverage (+ you can torque up the bolts afterwards) - i'm not sure of the allen size thou (i assume s3 size would be the same size as standard)
  21. Car's looking amazing. It's my favourite colour too, but then I think 1 or 2 of us might be a little biased
