  1. I'm from Wiltshire but my bro lives just outside Uckfield, hence going on rollers in Crawley My VR came from Worthing thou
  2. I went there in the summer on a RR day, they're TVR specialists but really helpful
  3. Notice the one on ebay has armour door plates - normally means some low life has had a go at the handles with a screw driver (did with mine! !sad ) - might cost a bit to get fixed
  4. Thanks to all that organised the day and vince & the guys - fantastic day Did wonder if vr6turbo's car was going to destroy the rollers
  5. Geastb - I'm in Trowbridge, Wilts Which way are you heading up there?
  6. I'm definitely going to be coming up on Sunday morning Anyone else doing the same?
  7. When i changed my exhaust a couple of weekends ago I had to remove 2 braces under the car to get the old exhaust off, I refitted them after replacing the exhaust. Both tie either side of the transmission tunnel together. There's 1 small one (<1ft) 2/3rds of the way down the transmission tunnel and another larger one (c.2.5ft) at the end of the trans tunnel. Is anyone aware of upgrades for these? I assume uprated ones will help improve the torsional rigidity of the car Thanks
  8. Excellent price for improvement I assume DIY fit shouldn't be any more difficult than standard discs/calipers/carrier Is the effect of extra unsprung weight very noticable? (very crashey over bumps?)
  9. I hate people who do that ~ A mobile dent repairer can probably take that out. I had sumthing similar on my front wing and the guy got it out completely for
  10. Mine always sits bang in the middle too Also check for a dirty/damaged connection on the temp sensor?
  11. Jellsta - try here to find where your port is http://en.openobd.org/locations.htm#vw_sharan_7m vr6turbo - Thanks for the advice, definitely going to check/change the fuse first. How do you reset the fault? (or does it do it automatically?) - I haven't had a good look round the vag com software yet
  12. Definitely below the filter - not much point to the filter otherwise If anyone does it, make sure you leave enough rigidity in the box so it doesn't collapse. Mine isn't actually drilled, i used a cutter to make large holes in the front and wing side, whilst not cutting though the strengthening points
  13. Very smooth, i like. What's the colour? Hard to tell from the pics
  14. I don't have any problems with my drilled airbox. As long as just the front and wing side of the box is drilled it shouldn't take in more hot air than the standard box - much better than a basic induction kit and only bettered (in performance if not sound!) by cold air feed kits like BMC imo.
  15. I would've thought yours would be OBDII but there's a guide here: http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?68661 For to access vag.com you need a cable and a laptop. Search vag.com on ebay for the cable, i bought mine from alpha bid after many recommendations on here. check ou this thread for more info http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?83560.0#post_83598
  16. Rears are any easy job if you've got access to a bearing press! It is possible to do it without but I didn't fancy it myself - you have to v carefully tap the new bearings in with a hammer and the old bearing I got mine from GSF and seem fine, its a personal choice thing - some people only buy genuine vw. One thing worth noting is that the bearing press into the rear discs, so if your discs are getting tired replace them at the same time or you'll have to fork out on bearings twice I think it cost me about
  17. What a little sh!t, hopefully someone'll recognise his voice (a long shot admittedly) and he'll get what's coming to him!
  18. Says its all from one 97 model vr6 so should be OBDII, would need to match up part no. with what you've got already though
  19. I'd put money on it being a rear wheel bearing, they allways go on Golfs and should be considered a service item -normally last about 60k miles. If its the rear one best get both sides replaced Get it done soon for peace of mind you really wouldn't want to deal with the consequences of it seizing . Unless your unluckey it should be okay for a bit though
  20. Mine does a similar thing ABS light comes on and ABS stops work but only when it's really wet (when ABS is actually useful :@ ) Fault code i get is: Address 03: ABS Brakes Controller: 3A0 907 379 E Component: ABS/EDS ITTAE 20 GI V00 Coding: 03704 Shop #: WSC 00000 1 Fault Found: 01276 - ABS Hydraulic Pump (V64) 16-10 - Signal Outside Specifications - Intermittent" Is this the same as you get HIGH-Liner?
  21. I've just plug my car into vag.com and come up with the following fault codes, "Address 01: Engine Controller: 021 906 256 Component: MOTRONIC M3.8.1 HS V02 Coding: 00000 Shop #: WSC 01317 2 Faults Found: 00668 - Supply Voltage Terminal 30 07-10 - Signal too Low - Intermittent 00533 - Shareware Version. To Decode all DTCs 14-10 - Please Register/Activate - Intermittent Readiness: N/A ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Address 03: ABS Brakes Controller: 3A0 907 379 E Component: ABS/EDS ITTAE 20 GI V00 C
