  1. I'll see if i can make it on the Sat Let y'all know - i don't want to miss out
  2. They were really helpful when i've bought parts from them. They've been about for years too
  3. [blockquote]There seem to be two different types of OEM catalytic converter out there for the Golf VR6, one being about 6 inches longer than the other. This might be the reason for your fitting problems. I'm not sure whether it's OBD1/OBD2 thing. I'll post some pics of the different cats later to show what I mean. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Regards, Nick. [/blockquote] I didn't realise there where 2 types of cat - worth knowing for the future Fortunately the middle pipe is straight and the back end of the pipe wasn't tapered so it was eas
  4. Thanks mate - i'll give them the list of numbers and see what they come up with Ta Jonno
  5. I'd definitely recommend ebc greenstuff pads with zimmerman x-drilled discs. Much better on the road than the original set up
  6. Does anyone know the part number for these? My mounts could do with replacing and i'd like to put the uprated S3 ones on. I can see it being difficult to get hold of them at the local audi dealer without a part no.!
  7. Coullstar's right, technically you don't have to have a cat to pass your MOT test but try and tell the MOT tester that - most of them will fail it just for not having one
  8. Looks amazing Love the front bumper - just as i'd like to get mine done!
  9. Nice car mate I found the throw on the gear shift long at first but you get used to it quickly, if you really want a short shift kit i think awesome sell them, not sure how much though!
  10. I'm going up on sunday morning, from Trowbridge, if anyone wants to do a convoy from one of the m4 services!
  11. [blockquote]how about colour coded??? ( sorry six appeal) [/blockquote] I love colour coded split rims at the moment, I'm serioulsly temped to do it myself but my rims have only recently been powder coated silver
  12. I fitted my milltek system at the weekend and although i'm happy with the sound, i have to say i'm not so sure the system deserves its reputation for fit. After i took off the old system, i laid it on the garage floor next to my shiney new miltek and was surprised by the length of the centre pipe. I trial fitted the system to see how it would fit and low and behold the straight centre pipe needed 6inches(!!!!) taken off it. This was easy enough to do but not exactly what i expected. I accept that mine might have been a one off, the rest of it fits fine - but maybe millteks QC standards are dr
  13. Looks very 'merc like'! Hope they make it Surprised they're using the Scriocco name rather than Corrado
  14. Here's pics of P2 YOB (lots more on Westside's website):
  15. I think Nerih might be talking about the side strips ?! I've seem them removed (with holes lead filled) but I've not seen them smoothed
  16. Sounds like an excellent day...pick up any ideas for your car?
  17. You do have to be careful with wheel selection on Vr6's and late model GTI's, as clearing the calipers is a common problem (original wheels are a specially designed for this reason)
  18. Personally I've got a K&N panel and i'm v happy with it - no real way of measuring the performance of just a filter but i think the throttle response was improved (sound definitely improved, with a modified airbox!) and my car performed well on a rolling road. Shouldn't think there's much difference between K&N, Green and Jetex filters. I'm not a fan of the foam style filters like the pipercross - wasn't impressed with the performance on a mates GTI. BTW - F1 cars use the K&N style filters, which has got to be some sort of recomendantion!
  19. Just a quick warning about non hub centric spacers. I had them on my first car (to clear a strut) after fitting them it felt like my wheels where unbalanced, had them balanced but problem remained. I spoke to a wheel specialist and they said if the wheel can't locate on the hub its possible for the wheel to sit not quiet centric to the hub (even with 4/5 studs tightened!) - making it feel unbalanced. To be honest i've never heard of anyone else ever having this problem (i must just be lucky or something ) so hopefully you'll be alright with them, otherwise you'll have to get a set of hub cen
  20. As Seademon said, get it on ramps and check for leaks. It could be the themostat housing or water pump, amoungst others...also check the coolant resevoir - it could be cracked or coming out of the reservoir overflow valve
  21. If the car isn't used much or only for very short journeys (not getting up to full running temp) you can get a bit of mayo. When I first got mine and only did short journey's I had this problem. Now it does longer journeys and gets up to temp = no problem! Hope it's the same in your case
  22. [blockquote] Nerih lol, anyways, back on topic, i phoned up the fiat breakers in southwark to find they have plenty of wipers and will let me try before i buy, if they fit good, i'll buy a few and sell them on, they only cost a 10 bucks so its not a big'un. The only thing i need to check is that they have holes for the washer jet, becuase if not, then there isn't any point. [/blockquote] Have you had any luck trying to fit a punto rear wiper?
  23. Thanks Simon. I've had a set on order with awesome since sept - they're on back order with no date to receive them yet. !sad I think i'll wait for awesome. I'm not in a massive hurry to get them, its winter after all, but hopefully they'll arrive before b4 next years shows!
  24. I've not had this problem but bonrath do lowering spring caps to drop the front by about another 10mm. They move the top mounting of the front springs 10mm further up effectively reducing your ride by the 10 mm.
  25. Are you looking to sell them? if so could you pm me how much?
