  1. I had similar problems like you: 1) ABS comes one and "springy" noise from the pedals. Then I had it diagnosed on VAG com at my local independent. "rear right calibration error" something like that, so had the follwowing changed 1) rear right ABS sensor - ABS still came on 2) Left rear ABS sensor replaced - ABS still came on ABS wired re-seated and errors cleared 3) Disc ringgs replaced - same error After the 4th visit, the garage said it was the ABS ECU, which was a main dealer part at almost $£500 Replaced ABS ECU.. no more errors.. Good luck mate
  2. I went to an independant for the diagnosis - no fee. they just charged me for the work on replacing the sensors
  3. I had the same error on my VR (OSR faulty), which came up on the VAGCOM. But once the OSR sensor was replaced, the ABS light came on again this time Rear Left sensor. That was replaced, the ABS came on again sighting "calibration error". Eventually the ABS ECU had to be replaced, this sorted the problem. A rear sensor from the stealers costs about £75-80. Howvever a ABS ecu costs about £500. Hope your fault is a sensor and not a ABS ECU . Good luck mate
  4. I have had the same pedal springy noise, As we speak the ABS ECU is going to be replaced on mine.... Keep on getting calibration error messages on the VAG-COM after/before the wheel sensors where replaced and the wires re-seated into the ABS ECU computer module.
  5. apparently i need to get a hold of this part. 3A0 907 379E Anyone know where I can get of this, apart from the stealer? thanks in advance
  6. Thanks for that.. The mechanic had a small portable VAG-com device. When he showed me the errors , 2 messages popped up. 1) rear right sensor 2) R/Right calibration error I did'nt get time to note the codes down. So I will ask him, when I speak to him next. I have a 98 VR ... Bloody ABS.......!!!
  7. Well the VAG-COM device pops up with right rear tolerance message. The garage has done a few bit extra bits like replacing the right rear ring. double checked all the wiring. But the VAG com still displays right rear tolerance calibration error. The garage reckon the ABS ECU might need replacing. Does any any know how much one of those units cost and labour hrs to fit ? Thanks
  8. Well when the rear right sensor was replaced. Then ABS flashed up. Then the rear left flashed up on VAG -com, that was replaced. The went to collect it, and ABS flashed up. Took it back a 3rd time, was told the wire was loose connect to the ABS module/wheel. Drove home, ABS flashed up. Will need to take it back and leave it with the garage for a couple of days for proper diagnosis. The ABS light is intermittent, so fingers crossed its not the ABS pump/module/brain thingy !!
  9. Thanks for that,, so you reckon it will rub on 205/45/17 on a non lowered setup with a full load of passengers ? even on 205/40/17 's ?
  10. Hi folks, I have a set of 17's ready for my VR6, but was wondering if I can put on a 205/45/17 profile wheel ? I won't be lowering the car as I use it regualarly as the daily run. Wanted a reasonably comfortable drive and will for most of the time have loads of passengers. Its a 5-dr model, should I expect a any rubbing with the wheel arches on that setup ? (non-lowered setup) Will it be a harder ride, running on a smaller profile e.g the standard 205/40 profile ? If anyone can pass on some wisdom.. kindly appreciated.. Cheers
  11. hi all... the last few weeks my ABS light has been coming on and off quite frequently. I took it to a local VW specialist who put it on the VAG-COM device last week, and it popped up with a right rear wheel sensor and calibration error. So had the sensor replaced.. and error cleared. Picked the car up and the ABS sensor came back up gain ! Odd I thought so I took it back, the garage put it back on the VAG-COM, and the error came up with a rear left sensor. So the garage replaced the rear/left sensor. Test drove it and cleared the errors. So went to pick it up from the garage... and guess what
