  1. Right, I've changed the pump and all seems to be fine, I just to know what are the symptons of an air lock. Temp needle resting in the middle plenty of hot air blowing through heaters and oil temp at about 90-110 depending on driving condition
  2. Thanks vr6freak, Do you think i wll be ok to drive around like it is, or should i park it up till i get it fixed.
  3. I checked mine last night again and with just the ignition on. I can\'t hear or feel it viabrating !sad and it\'s very hot to touch. If it has failed what sort of problems would i see, ?! as it\'s not over heating i think. Temp needle sits bang in middle all the time and takes about 3-4mins to get there and Oil temp is reaching about 90normal driving conditions
  4. Should i be able to hear or feel this pump running with just ignition lights on
  5. Try getting you front wheels balanced and also check the front wheel bearings for any play.
  6. Very little oil will come out if any, and it\'s just above the coil pack at the back of the engine about here.
  7. I would go for ATE Power disc and ATE pads as they are one of the OEM for VW
  8. You can try nipping up the hub nut, other wise you'll have to take the discs apart to fit new bearings. You don't have to change the old discs just depends on how much wear they have.
  9. have you got a picture of the offending item and where it goes
  10. It's just like the trip to Inters Justin, but this time you'll be doing the driving
  11. I'll be driving the long 20min drive on the day LOL
  12. Was the car running when they did the checks, as I'm sure I've read that the car has to be running otherwise the speed sensor fault comes up.
  13. kevhaywire, but surley the bolt i took out should have gone to the same length as the new one and not stuck there until i started to press it. and even then it was sticking at times. as for filling it with oil this was done as a precaution to make sure there was some oil in the new bolt. I got this info from the vwvortex forum.
  14. What I did was put the new bolt in a mug of oil so there was enough oil to go up to the thread of the bolt and the head of the bolt facing up. Compressed the bolt pushing the head and whilst still in the mug to get the air out and also to fill it with oil. Next I took the fuse out for the fuel pump and cranked the engine till it cut out, cranked it couple of more times to make sure the engine wouldn't fire. (You could take the crank sensor off if you know where it is. Remove old Tensioner with a 26mm socket clean engine surfaces, take new bolt out of mug and insert it into the engine by hand a
  15. Just changed the timing chain tensioner bolt and this is the one I took out from the car. I was getting a little rattle and was debating whether to get the chains done at some point. After reading post from here and other forums I decided I would change bolt and see what results I get. This picture is of the bolt and how it came out of the car notice its length. This is picture of the length it should be when in normal condition as the new one was. The new compress like a spring smoothly, the old as you can see from the pictures is getting stuck and that's what I believe was causing the rat
  16. 5 doors are the best and they go faster too. LOL
  17. I would firstly get the car serviced at a VW specialist and also get them to run the VAG-COM check on it, and see what faults come up. If every thing comes back ok i would get the timing checked. After that i'm lost. There are a few members on here from your area i'm sure they'll point you in the right direction. and by the way HI
  18. Seademon, I've got the fitting instructions in PDF format PM me with your email address if you want to look at it while your waiting for yours to arrive
  19. If your on budget go for the Miltek as it's a 2 box system and it's quite reasonably priced. If you are going to buy one try www.icjperformance.co.uk. They have sound cilip of a corrado vr6 with this system so you can get an idea of it. If your not a budget some members highly recommend the supersprint for the build quality, but i don't think they are stainless steel, and as you have had one previously you should know what to expect from this system. I recently changed my exhaust for SS type, and as i wanted quite as possible i went for 3 box custom system with my choice of tail pipes. Most o
