  10. i have to defend myself here.... we are not all useless - there are some us at vw who know what they are doing!!!!!!!!!!! anyway you are correct - DEFINATELY the oil for a vr is silver synta and if your local dealer doesn't know what that is then they are **********!!!!

  14. unfortunately you can't get a diff separately... will be a whole box, however ANY dealer should uphold the warranty provided the vehicle is less than 3 years old AND has less than 60.000 miles and service history..... hopefully he will be ok.... pm me the reg / chassis number i'll get a box price... and part numbers ...

  21. unfortunately uk dealers cannot get us spec parts(i've tried) we can get european and some jap spec though but it takes a while .... best bet is to find a friend (or a friend of theirs) to get one over there and bring it back......
  22. fritz, i did this to mine : - i didn't think it was too bad to do, gave it to a body shop who painted the cover red, then i got some tamiya plastic model paint and a small brush, sat in the lounge, and carefully painted the lettering in silver... i found that if i made a small mistake if i was quick enough i could wipe off the excess with a piece of kitchen roll with no trace..... i think it was worth doing... richie
