    Bet you are! Would only make sense to get some tatty recaro's but some people....... Black leather in a black car is fine. Got it in mine, but set it off with beige trim so its not oo black.

    The mechanism in the door was fooked. £150 to sort out (could've been my BDC air filter!!) had to chain the door and steering wheel the whole weekend. Lucky no pikey's messed around with it. Think it was the achcuator (forgive the spelling) but not 100% sure. Its fixed thats the main concern. I know I could've got the part cheaper second hand and saved £50 but due to work committments just weren't poss. [ Edited Thu Nov 18 2004, 11:59PM ]

    What the feck is this world coming to!! Recently had a friend mugged at gunpoint parking his car up outside his own bloody house. Just goes to show you your never safe anywhere. People like that deserve everything they get, if not shoot the feckers.

    Have had the door card off but can't see nuffin. Its just bouncin right off and won't lock if you push the catch in. Really am grasping at thin air. Only time it locks is when you push the lock pin thingy on the the door.

    My driver door wont't close at ALL. The latch just ain't catching. If I try locking it from the inside it sits slightly open and then only takes a tug to open up. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Means can't alarm the car and tomorrow is sunday so garages looking a dim option. Feck feck feck

    Maybe time to call Mr AA and get a verdict on the battery. Might take it out and give it an overnight charge if I get time. Can't believe my sheer lazyness to just start it up has caused all this unneeccessary hassle.

    Well finally got her start run her for about five mins (woo hoo) BUT thought I'd take her for a run to charge the battery and went to get my wallet had to turn the engine off as no one to watch out for the car. Came back literally 2 min and wouldn't start!! Arhhhh tried tried tried again for another fifteen and finally gave up. Will try again tomorrow now. Wana avoid getting a new battery if I can. If I start and charge it up you guys reckon it'l be ok or is it shot?

    Its definitely a dead battery I'm certain of that. But my starter motor is almost on its last legs. Didnt get a turn from the engine at all. Whenever i turned it failing to get a spark the engine would make a persistant mad clicking noise.

    Sorry to hear that, hope you find something soon. As most have said you can always get into something better. Always a silver lining in every cloud if you can find it. As gay as that sounds it can very very true!

    Its a standard VW cat1. It switched off in the end, think that was just due to a low battery on the car. Sure it'l be up and running in no time.

    Yeah lights come on, alarm wouldn't shut up (think I up[set a few neighbours!) Push start that sounds like too much trouble. Plus as its an auto that may be bit difficult.

    Thanks guys, soon as theres's space to give it another shout will do. Need to get the starter motor started before winter comes. Is it worthwhile gettinga recondtioned one or just get one new?
