  1. could be your expansion tank cap ie where you fill the water its common vw problem and if the pressure seal is on way out it will let water seep out of the little overflow hole in top ov expansion tank.
  2. i have mk3 mfa stalk on mk3 gti im breaking im not sure whether they are hydraulic clutch or not but if they are i also will have pedal box and master cylinder will check tomorrow for you if your interested you can contact me on 07957 204 365
  3. lol no probs was just to much for me with me 600 miles a week the drone on 500 mile journey was to much although i agree it does sound awesome.
  4. could be mate but could also be an engine mount or a wish bone bush.as ive known both ov these to cause a clunking sound on pull away.
  5. actually mate most part sales people in dealerships are not mechanics they are just salespeople and the majority ive come across probably wouldnt even know where the oil goes as they just get 1 of the workshop mechanics to sort there cars and i personally think it makes things bloody awkward cos this is why we end up with wrong parts.
  6. lol i like to toke me smoke but when im racing other cars i like to smoke em ie thrash em its actually 2 different things i enjoy doing if you catch me drift.although it could also mean the same thing .i thought it was good sig cos it could be taken either way .he he he
  7. there is a tool obviously but like acf said ive found you can hold cams with spanners slotted in grooves in end ov cams before you remove chain make sure all is lined up with spanners holding cams then mark crank pulley wheel with bit ov tippex and block in same place so you can see its inline then if bottom does move at all you can see and just pull it back inline quite simple really he he he.
  8. have you had your cv joints checked best way is to find an empty carpark put car on full lock and drive in circles do this both ways left and right and same in reverse if clicking then chances are its your cv joints a lot ov the time you can get away with just having them regreased but some times they need replacing.hope this helps.
  9. lol even if you was individual mate some1 would soon copy ya style so ya fighting a losing battle .if you want a total 1 off try and sqeeze some 20"spinners on cant see many people copying that he he allthough you might need to mod arches a little lmao
  10. yes thought it was that stand i didnt get mine off ov that 1 there was another bloke there selling them too and im not sure if they are genuine cos i cant be bothered to pull em back off to check but as i said they are a perfect fit so i am chuffed any way really smartened up front end compared with old scuffed up 1s.
  11. i bought a set at inters that i dont think was on gpc stand i think they was laying on floor on side ov a stand and they fit perfectly .they had few sets there just in seethrough packaging .am i right in thinking the gpc stand was the one that stocked nearly all wheel caps lights plastic trims and was on right hand side as you walked in.
  12. lol so do you want us to gamble are money away or save it mate either way i think with the amount we all spend on are vr6s we cant afford to gamble more money away and were never gonna be good at saving he he he.
  13. its a cone mate about twice the size ov k/n il get a pic ov it tomorrow and try and post it in gallery.
  14. oh soz ive not got coilovers but thought you would still need to use the original top spring cups .
  15. what suspension are you currently running mate ive got 205 40 17s on koni/eibach set up and can load my car to the brim with no rubs but im on 7,5 j seems that most ov the people running 8s end up getting arches rolled but looking at gap on your tyre to arch id say your prob is possibly weak rear shocks cos i am sitting much lower on tyres and like i say no rubs .
  16. if your using your original top plates and mounts you are gonna need spring clamps to remove from old shockers only the fronts the backs can be removed without clamps BUT BEWARE if you try and remove fronts top plates and mounts without spring clamps you are very likely to cause yourself a big injury .
  17. lmao only way you could improve on that mate is to drop the 2 drop tops he he
  18. Just thought id mention ive just replaced my k/n induction kit with a green cotton filter and its loads better seems to pull a bit harder and looks loads nicer too and all for £65 would highly reccomend this over the k/n for those ov you who dont fancy forking out the large amount for bmc filter.
  19. pete will sort you out when he returns from festival mate
  20. if your getting oily gunk in your water you could also find the oil cooler is knackered and letting the oil and water mix ive known this to happen b4 incase your not sure its located at bottom right front ov engine as you look in at it
  21. aircon pump is on front ov engine and the rad for air con is in front ov normal rad the pipes run along front ov engine to rad and then back along passenger side ov engine to bulkhead but i believe aircon runs on gas not water although i wont swear to that you could find you have popped or a hole in a core plug or it could be a split hose cos there are several ov both on the back ov engine.but it might also be head gasket mate .as for your running problem i had a similar problem when an inlet hose came loose on my airflow from meter to throttle body hope this helps a bit.
  22. acf i have a set ov clocks but the lcd on the mfa is faulty they were on just over 90000 you could take them apart and put your mfa in if thid is any good to you let me know if not no probs just thought id mention in case they are any good to you.
