  1. After seeing the aount of people buying these wheels, I thought I have to pull my finger out and polish them up as a last resort before selling, so I started... With many helpful hints from Binliner, here's one I done 100% with my hand!! Order a good polishing kit, so when that comes, can hopefully get a better look to it... 1 down, 3 more to go! Hope I dont see any polished ones about or they are defo going! Never doing polishing by hand again!! Nightmare but defo worth it!! Its none stop at the mo, trying to get the car sorted for the edition 38 show! So polishing wheels during day at wor

I got the heated recaros working... I got hold of a heater switch, and simply got good mates at their audio shop (www.streetworkz.co.uk) to plump them up! Job done!
  3. Just in process of doing my panels in alcantara... Have a butchers next time your about and see if you want any from my mate if you haven't got your as yet...
  4. Thats basically it.. I done mine last year... WARNING: If you have an engine immob, the mk4 fob CANNOT be reprogrammed to suit your engine immob!! There is a 'TRICK' to it, but I'm not going to say on a live forum(safety reason), if you want to know please PM me...
  5. yeah, pretty lame to be honest... lol New one is coming apparently..
  6. yeah, relocating my wash bottle and batty to the boot.. Im close with Eurotek so may have to sport the stroeve bottles and mounting bracket... they look PHAT!
  7. I remember sitting in a mates Cosworth at Santa pod and I was nervous! I cudn't imagine how nervous the drivers mustt have been, loadsa people watching u, first time up the strip... How you guys feel there?? Im DEFINETLY going to be nervous when it comes to take mine up the strip! I know alot of people will have their eye on it to see how it goes ..ahhh
  8. How come this has no holes for plugs or the plastic cover??
  9. £51.39 lol Could have got them free if the Parts manager wasn't in!
  10. Having the flywheel worked on new belts and chains with new tensioners and guides, getting GREAT deal on those.. (stock thats been idle for 2 years+) lol! Having head flowed too by a mate who modifies aeroplane engines, yes, aeroplane engines! lol So all good, shud have an easy 200brake straight away I hope... with the decat and system fitted...
  11. lol! Ended up booking it last night! Will do simply work overtime when im back!
  12. Right.. Go to Spain this Saturday with a few mates for a week.. OR Decat, Lightened/balanced fly and new clutch kit WHAT WOULD YOU DO??? If I go, its guna take a week out of my time here, so will be behind on polishing up my wheels and sorting my VR conversion and sorting out the new bottom end(Kilo)... ummm ?! ?! !dodge
  13. Thats cool! Will defo go ahead then! They have been real helpful on the e-mails!
  14. Anyone used these guys before for VR tuning? The proces seem very reasonable... If positive feedback, i'll definetly get some work done... Just wondered what service e.t.c is like! Also, talking of their priceing, to lighten a flywheel, they charge £55, what do other places charge? thanks http://www.hiflowheads.co.uk
  15. Chains are mint, no slack what so every, same goes for pulleys, think they were recently changed, the guides look ok too.. I think something to do with the oil coooler is on the way out due to mixing oil/water to give the toffee type stuff.. So something there... I heard that the upper tensioner wasn't a straight fit, this true? Cheers for the advice, always helpful keep it coming..
  16. While the engines out.. Anything I can do.. Obviously clutch if it actually needs it.. Is there any point having the flywheel lightened and balanced? Cheap thing to do... Any thing else I can do / You would do?
  17. How much is the Aux? i think mine is on the way out... When the motors on ignition, u can hear something spinning (high pitch type noise)
  18. What's this about http://www.hiflowheads.co.uk/rebuilds/rebuilds.asp?car=vr6 I asked the guy there, he said for the oversize pistons, plus a rebore to give near enuff 3000cc, your looking at around £800 which I thought was good... Seems VERY VERY cheap?
  19. I'm going to rid of mine when I fit the VR... But... why would VW fit it if it does nothing??
  20. Yeah, lights up red... It's all I need now as you can't change the bliming std one, well half of it.. Then got red VR clocks waiting to go in.. The mk4 cab clocks wudn't work on VR's.. You'd have to have a 2.0 and below..
  21. I need the headlight switch! I had the steering wheel, but it just didn't look right in the car strangely... Felt too big with the massive gap between airbag and rim... A mate with another 1.4 has it now.. not sure if its been fitted.. I know of a bare wheel with no air bag for £55..
  22. Whoops, didn't mean ballasts, meant projectors... Uprated the fuses from 10 to 25 amp, they work and have been working for well over a week now Be told that I shud try using a 15 as it will be safer if it works.. Also, just order an E46 bmw wiring harness, which can be fitted into the OEM mk3 loom (after being chopped up).. (just replace the brown and yellow lead) It contains all correct relays and thicker cabling, so all shud be well and good. Eitehr way, its all good and only cost £36 + the spare TT lamp i got for spares. [ Edited Wed Jul 07 2004, 01:44AM ]
