shit, didn't realise that cab knocked you off!! That don't count, its a cab! I was hoping to be the one that knocked you off! hehe Your still the fastest VR though, do you know if nitrous Oxide was used on his run to get that time, i'd imagine so... Would you not consider an N20 kit?

Anyone know of mid range times say 40-80mph.. Basically rolling speed times... Thanks p.s, preferably a near standard lump

OH cool, I won't have ABS, so no EDL!
-
Silver! My fave colour for everything! Clean and modern looking! Wud love a highline in silver, but dont fancy silver leather! lol
-
Can this be disconnected??? I don't really want it to be active as I prefer a raw drive with no driver aids, reason why I don't want ABS! Anyone done it?

I hate to do this before, unfortunetly, was for a mates car and not mine, not been able to find one since But Pull the buttons next to the headunit out, then you can pull the plug out of the bottom of the seat without removing it, just press one side of it and pull.. Remove the interior sill cover and pull the wire up from under the carpet. undo the bottom parts of the dash and trace the wires that go to the seat, so pull them all up from the side of the car, do this for both sides. u'll find them above the fuse box, u'll need to drop this down... once u find them, you just have to cut, or

[moved] Wheel advice needed
MarkGolf replied to Pete.sVR6's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
I run that set up and god knows how low I am, but no one is as low as me on that set up and I run my car 250 miles+ a week! I get MINOR rubbing on the front when on uneven ground/full lock, the rears are no probs! You'll have no probs at -30mm, but saying that, the key is getting the correct offset... stick around 35-37. -
Can't really shout for a VR powered car, but my car certainly handled better when it higher! I can't really push my car that fast into tight bends, standard cars can stick up my arse, while i have to slow down mid bend.. BUt as said, they look tooo good decked and my car aint a speed machine anyhoo.

Got to be scrap yard! But Vent-Hoes are rare-ish surely... Volks-apart have never failed to sort me out, give them a shout..

what kind of car kicks a VR6s' arse?
MarkGolf replied to apd's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
I basically had a full respray on my car and everything got painted at the same time, but due to difference body material (plastics) some bits are VERY slight different colours, not a prob... I'm having some odd bits painted seperatly now, so shall have to wait n see how they come out.. not to hard thought to be honest trusting the guy making your paint is good.... Silver doesn't fade luckily! -

I've seen a standard apart from semi race slicks, 106 gti round a track and air field, and it pulled away from many expensive 'sports' cars bar the Caterham 7's... Even got video of it! The handling of a VR6 is a totally different issue, dont think that shud be started on...lol -

The VR6 Golf is a heavy car aswell as being what I'd call old technology, the VR isn't alll about speed, i can see that by the way the V6 4motion is advertised in work (VW)... The VTS is a light shite car that was made to go "fast"... -

Nah, I was referring to my mate Tas's black one.. But James says that he was keeping up with you, was just on the phone as I read your reply, said that you even commented on his performance ..lol I definetly know that the VR is under tuned, look at it compared to other 2.8's.. I most definetly am not 'dissing' the VR6 engine, but just saying I find it slow for the size of it and I always will think that.. I know once tuned, which mine most definetly will be, they can be a fun engine, especially when considerin the Golf isn't really a performance coupe! LOL, book figures alone show that a VT -

what kind of car kicks a VR6s' arse?
MarkGolf replied to apd's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
Well, one thing, go-faster stripes aint my style.. think my car's styling speaks for itself. I'm merely putting a VR6 engine into my car for the sake of doing a cheap engine conversion which I can stick my schrick on and then add a blower, not knocking it, just saying, it is slow for such an engine when in standard form. I've been in many, even driven many working for VW, Polo GTi's give them a run for their money which my mate was loving, MK3 8v and 16v's keep up with them, and 150bhp 20vt's keep ahead of them... I would get a 20VT, but being a student, can't quite afford it all in one go... -

I'm getting a VR6 engine, but in my opinion they are damn lazy and slow enignes! I know that Golf GTi 8v and 16v's dont sit far behind them! Saxo's beat them U need to spend alot on them to get em to move which is a sahme, but end of the day, they're a nice motorway engine which sounds awesome and cheap conversion! And nice to say its a 2.8 VR6... not when your telling the saxo bloke that just beat ya from the lights though... lol -
Nice, will have to keep an eye on some at Inters! Thanks!
-
I have my VR6 rear beam all built up and ready to go on Can you fit rear sway bars to them? I can see there is one in the beam, but its welded in.... how can one be fit if possible? Thanks
-
LOL! Monster, give me yours engine and you can have the schrick...
-
Oh nice! I do definetly want the corrado lump, but trying to find one is gonna eb damn impossible!
-
I haven't really got the patience to keep it laying round until I eventually get the lump, I know I'll reret it in the long run due to it being such a bargin, but another way of looking at it would be to say 'I got a free engine out of it' I'm just going to stick some sort of F/I on the lump anyways, and tbh, after the engine conversion I'll probably start to get board and want to get my second car, hopefully still keep mine though..
-
OK, Plans seems set that my engine conversion is going to go a head sooner than I thought, and a few other things, could even land my 2nd feature before im 20! Well, I know there are the OBD1 AND OBD2 lumps, ideally, which is the better to go for and were there slight variations within the models? I knwo the lump to go for complete would be the LATE spec engines due to a higher output, but I'd imagine these would be sort after... Over those though, I would get a 2.9 lump, but their tooo damn hard to find... Any ideas would be appreciated....
-
hah Nah, I paid £80 for a standard inlet and put it in place of the schrick,, i've now got the complete schrick inlet with all the bits I think I;m going to sell it though, the money I can get for it can buy my engine and bits n bobs Prob appear on Ebay, they go for £800-£1000 on there!!

[moved] Schrick electrics, help a.s.ap
MarkGolf replied to MarkGolf's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
All sorted and got th full kit now! Do you at Stealth do full on engine conversions? I've got 2 companies so far interested, but wondered whether you would comtemplate taking on my engine conversion for me? Basically just dumping a VR6 lump in.. If you've got a number I can call, would be good to talk! Thanks Mark -
For a schrick manifold.. I've left the Solinoid and control unit in the car... I didn't want to tip it out as i was unsure what to do... basically, the vaccum pipes which go into the solinoid I know I have to re-join, can easily get something for that, but the wires coming OUT from the ECU, Black, red and blue, that go into the manifold control unit, can I simply cut those? Let me know please as I need to do this tomorrow morning! thansk
