  1. no luck in finding an engine/gearbox so far - this is going to be long and depressing i guess
  2. yup, its cheaper to get a replacement engine then try to fix a water jacket, basically the engine colling system has a leak in it. mk3anni - thanks to you as well then lol
  3. thanks dubloke - the website is under construction but il sure give em a call tomorrow. man im screwed.....
  4. just went to the garage after he told me to come down.... he showed me a hole in the gearbox (bell housing i think he called it) and the previous cowboy that bolted the gearbox back on tightened the screw sooo much that it has pierced the water jacket in the engine block. so this means.... i now need a new engine and gearbox for my VR6. although i feel totally bummed.. i am not going to sell the car as it is to ANYONE as it felt so horrible to find out for myself. i have a few questions: 1) does it have to be a highline engine or can it be any OBD2 engine? what about engine code? 2) does anyon
  5. my mre g vr did that, i took the coilpack off and carefully examined it, there were hairline cracks present which i covered with clear nail varnish - worked a treat for a while which indicated a new coil pack to be bought,
  6. i am a retail applications analyst for accenture (sounds posh but never enough dosh!! lol) nah.. i guess for a non-degree holder 23 year old i cant complain.... no one else is saying how much they earn so i wont either
  7. i cant think of anything else it could be, balancing is the biggest cause of steering wheel vibration at high speeds oh... and a buckled alloy wheel or eneven air pressures in 4 tyres (should be about 30 all round) start with checking the air pressures in the tyres as this is cheapest, if not the balance the wheels at a tyre place and if the wheel is buckled they will tell you this good luck
  8. i had my first VR rolled and flared as the 7.5J RS4 rims were catching on the rear arches, the paint cracked so had to have full respray on rear quarters which cost 350 all in. the rolling/flaring only cost 50 quid for all four arches.finished article was perfect all done by an inurance approved body shop in walthamstow. rolling the arches is a safer bet especially if the place doing it has an arch roller, they heat the paint so its less likely to crack but no one will guarantee this so be prepared for a possible respray at the rear quarters. i know style dynamics have the special roller tool.
  9. thanks guys, i have found a local guy that has worked at audi for 3 years and vw for one year, he has his own place now and only charges 25 quid for vw diagnostic (he has the vw equipment too) i might just drop it off to him to sort out once and for all
  10. hi guys, now that i have a problem with the oil leak (possibly from the gearbox) i need to find a good mechanic that wont rip me off (if this is possible) in the east london area. anyone know a good place? cheers
  11. you can get loads on ebay- chrome ones that have a hex locking nut on them. should be under a tenner - although on green a black one will be best

  13. kewl guys, thanks again!! i plugged it in and after a bit it stopped running, its not always as easy as this so ill count myself lucky lol.
  14. i just got mine done yesterday, 4 wheel alignment and camber adjusted, but they only do the front as there aint anything to do on the rear, makes a big difference though, now my wheels sit straight!! 78 pounds - a few places do it in east london, dunno where you are based cadguy.
  15. ok - ill plug it in now and then check on it after a bit to see if its still on. gota post up another problem now

  17. hey guys MERRY XMAS, i was just looking at the engine today and found this part unplugged, when i plugged the clip back in - the part seemed to be buzzing even after the car was switched off. The minute I plug it in the buzzing sound starts again. it is located next to the coilpack. help appreciated - thanks !dodge
