  1. next time you hear it see if it goes away when you press the clutch, i had the exact similar problem and it disappeared when the clutch was pressed for a few seconds. immediately i knew it was the clutch release bearing which is now replaced and noise has gone for good hope this helps
  2. lol matrix, now we all want to know what the resolution was..... i have the same problem and was told there is a leak in the system and no gas hence the lack of pressure cuts out the operation of air con?
  3. antera 309 - how much will you charge to do this job lol? after reading your post i dont think i want anyone else to do mine lol
  4. good advice from madge too - i had to replace alot of my suspension after slumping the car in a nasty ditch on a dual carriageway, the mechanic said it appears that the parts were on their way out anyways so i did not claim after - its always better to be honest i guess
  5. in the dark, pop the hood open and stare at the engine bay, you may see where the mis fire is coming from. i dont think hall sender will cause misfire just hesitation
  6. when you put your foot down to rev the car nothing will happen? revss will climb VERY slow? not too keen on that test mind you.....
  7. i like the BK299 myself but then its upto you , the top two will look bigger on the car as they have less spokes.
  8. i dont really like em either, but out the two B is better - too bling unless they are A8/TT Comps are not for VW's i reckon - leave it for the jap cars

    next car ?

considered e36 m3 before i bought this vr6 but maint. would be too high! also considered a S3 but couldnt justify 9K plus for a 1.8 4 pot car next might be a big engined auto bmw or V6 4 motion/R32 but that is loooooong time away as i need to rinse every penny out of this car first and drive it to its death lol

    RAC Farce

    ouch - does that hurt?
  13. right MOT passed..... welding done and the cat is back on (much more smoother and quiet drive) passed C02 now reading 0.11% instead of 0.80 without cat. (D-Cat pipe for sale now see classifieds) then found out that all brake discs and pads will need changing - this is mainly due to the passenger side disc being smaller then the drivers side with the correct pads fitted (you can imagine) this car is driving me insane!!!

    RAC Farce

petesvw - regardless of how they are - atleast they can tow you home in the middle of the night - im getting the FULL RAC membership which includes a hired car for 3 days if its not repairable on roadside.
  15. motorworld do different lengths and im sure halfords do as well. might be worth a look (could always use washing machine 'water out' pipes)
  16. you are welcome mate! arnt easy fixes just wicked? other wires could be fog lights?
  17. hi matt, obviously you have overlooked my group buy that is going on, 150 pounds including delivery and the rubber hose piece that is needed to fit to VR6. VAT etc all in. check out the group buy section and put your name down if interested, a couple of weeks should be possible but not guaranteed as its taking time to gather interest. let me know, cheers
  18. mine came unplugged see 'name that part'in general forum raised by me for a pic. is this correct kilokilla?
  19. lol, stop making me jealous dude..... it means more poncing around garages tomorrow to get the welding and exhaust sorted wasted saturday arghhhhhhhhhh
  20. i thought any decent paint mxing shop can match paint for you
  21. just had the car in for an MOT today, failed on C02 emissions (D-CAT) and corroded underside sill (jacking point on passenger side) not too bad i guess but will cost me £££'s i was quoted 105 pounds inc VAT to put the cat back on and weld the sill. walked out of that place and have found someone that will put cat back in for 30 pounds and went to my friendly insurance approved bodyshop to get a quote on the welding which i will receive tomorrow (will be done properly tho as i was told the carpet and interior trim will have to be removed to weld properly and strengthen it as well. also....
