    i have this problem too, just had tracking/cambering done and all new shocks all round before this. car still pulls to the left and air pressure is correct as well. the tracking guy said that its because of uneven wear on the tyres and that i have to give it a few hundred miles before they will wear evenly. have you checked air pressures?

    true say.... tuesday AM i am going to order the engine for delivery asap, and i will also tell my mechanic i want a recon gearbox, that way i will have a years guarantee on the gearbox and new clutch. will stand me in at 1500 all inclusive including a service as well. sounds ok to me!! just want the car back to life - oh and i will probably sell the inlet manifold/coilpack/throttle body etc once iv ran the nwe engine to make sure i dont need em for myself.

    nope - no one is selling with gearbox, only place is on ebay where its 650 from an L reg thats done 60k miles and been sitting since 2001

    strictly dubs dont have one at the moment they said iv found another at a breakers from a 1996 P reg vr6, 68K miles 2 months warranty for 650 inc VAT and delivery.

    tinny: if you still had it i would have bitten your arm off for it. i think that will be the best bet, buy a VR6 for a max 2000 pounds and strip what i need then sell the rest on.

    i guess so, so you think that a 41k mile engine and recon box and new clutch is too much if it adds to 2000 parts and labour?

    ok guys, i need advice, will it be cheaper to buy another VR6 that rusted etc and transplant the engine and sell the other parts from the car? its quite hard to find an engine from a breakers and taking their word for what the mileage is.

    man you guys, can i join in lol? my cars off road - needs new gearbox and engine - no social life and OT coming up!!! well i guess it will be a new year - new vr engine lol - just hope the replacement dont screw me over

    hesitation, lack of power approx 30bhp loss, take it out give it a clean and u might notice the difference, approx 60 pounds for a new one at the stealers

    and what if its a corrado 2.9 engine? and also.. what if its a vr6 auto engine into my manual? clearly i dont know much about this cuz i aint ever had an engine go on me

    darnnn..... iv only had her a week and she is dead im just gona look for a replacement engine and maybe a recon gearbox unless it comes with the engine. arghhhhhhhhhhh

    hmmm...interesting, i dont know if you know 'bampson' from this forum - he is selling a AAA engine taken from an auto vr6 - will this work in mine?

    hey guys, can anyone tell me how much it would roughly cost for a bottom end re-build on vr6? i am struggling to find an engine and thought it a good option as pointed out by (purple highline monster - thanks) cheers

    thanks mate, will keep that in mind, only prob is my car is sitting in this garage and is stripped apart, not only is it taking up space but i find this mechanic to be very reliable and understanding. i will get quotes for a bottom end rebuild but i dont think anyone will repair a punctured water jacket as its the side walls of the engine ... or will they?

    yeh the one in scotland is just too far and the other one the guy said no guarantee on it what so ever and he is a breaker as well so should atleast have 30 days thanks for looking out
