  2. cad guy: dude - i think you hit the nail on the head man!! this engine sits quite firm and solid as its a replacement, and the leads are blacking out at the highest points so voila - ur theory is correct. man i love this place .... gona clean and wash her up now as she done me proud lol. thanks mate!
  3. hey guys, i have just fitted a new set of 8mm magnecor leads to my car, the longest lead on the top is appearing to have black marks on it which wipe off quite easily but re-appear when checked again. these marks were not there when i fitted them but are appearing on that lead now. any idea why this may be? pics can be posted....
  4. i got 68% lol...thats cuz i cant stop thinking of food, i need food >>walks away to find food
  5. good decision Han - admin is there any chance to restrict this topic to guys only so we can rant over lol
  6. statistics state: women are safer driver and they are not involved in many accidents, thats because the majority 'cause' the accidents without even realising ... going through a junction causing destruction behind them and not even noticing lol .. well thats how they do it in east london anyways, change lanes while you are right next to them almost barging you off the road, when you horn at them after they give you the dirty look as if you are hittin on them and not trying to make a point of what just happened. running for cover also lol.
  7. any insurance company that requires the car to have an approved alarm will ask for the certificate at one point or another, my insurance with HIC states that to be insured on the car it has to have a cat1 alarm, they have not asked for the cert yet but when it comes to a claim im sure they will be interested. i fit my clifford concept 650 by an approved installer for £300 pounds.
  8. look through your paper work and you should find a certificate - if there is a cert it means it approved, mind you there was a thread which advised factory fitted VR alarms are no longer considered approved?? i just fitted a concept 650 alarm to be safe as i spent shit loads on the car
  9. all i can say is enjoy it mate! the bmc certainly makes a noticeable difference in sound and smooth acceleration if you are as fussy as me to notice let us know what you think
  10. as you can see i have used a bit of the feed pipe to mouth the standard cold air feed and made a shape out of it to shield that lil bit of hot air away coming from the engine - this way it sounds better overall!
  11. hi matt, i dont have a cold air feed running to the bmc, this is my second bmc on two different VR6's and to be honest when the cold air feed is left out it sounds much more GRUNTY!!! i had a K&N before putting in the BMC and it roars much more. as soon as you put the cold air feed on securely the noise mellows down and you can only hear it over 4000 revs. so... iv left mine out and used the standard cold air feed from wing mouthed into the bmc loosely - it dont drive any slower in traffic etc and is just brilliant!! just my xperience.. hope it helps. a pic to follow any second now
  12. nice on si, make sure you post the group shocker pic on this thread when you get it done lol
  13. in my new one i have done about 120 pulling away from a type R - didnt go much after that due to traffic, got home and found out im only running 5 cylinder! plenty more where that came from then eh?

    how thick??

oh and ciaran is right the 7mm ones will be direct replacement whereas the 8mm ones will require the lugs which hold the leads into place removed (chipped off)

    how thick??

join the magnecor group buy, i have 8mm ones as shown in the post.. unless you are running a supercharger or alike you wont really need 8.5mm, i got 8mm as they are same price as 7mm ones. hope this helps
  16. i get (after engine change) 29/30 mpg on motorway and about 20mpg like i did today 11 miles local.

  19. very nice!! make sure you get pics/updates up in members rides once suspension has settled, i had the RS4's on my old car, they are nice but cant beat the new rims!!
