    ive been to the ring a few times and never had any brake fade , ive had them very hot ,if fluid isnt fresh you will get fade much quicker

    they just unscrew off the rack ends with locking nut to secure, easy job to do just count the threads so they go back on at same place for tracking

    some parts ppl are a waste of time, i whent to place the other day and asked for a water pump for a vr6 the lad said "is it the aaa engine " i thought great at last a parts guy who know his stuff ,till he came back with a water pump for a 16v golf !!!and he was sure he was right

    ive got some originals from rear spare out of a 3 door

    try disconnecting battery for 15 mins to reset ecu if it runs till turned off then wont start ,its the immobiliser,it locks on shut down so should start once

    try tapping starter with hammer at same time as trying to start it , it may be just stuck

    its worth trying the top tensioner bolt first, see if that quietens it up
