Ive had this problem for a while, and was wondering if it could be the rear beam bushes:- let say im in 3rd @ 4k RPM, if i blip the throttle the car jerks forward as expected, but i get a 'squeak' sound from under the rear seats. Thought it was the exhuast moving, but having looked and pushed/pulled it, it doesnt make a sound. Could it be the rear beam? Also, ive had 3 OSR bearngs in 18 months - could this be a sign of bent beam / worn bushes?

ooo, not good, i hope you get the full price of the claim, as a lot of these type of 'ding' are 'knock for knock' so you end up paying 50%

I would have expected more, but as people say that depends what rollers you go on, but I had 195HP with 188 ft/lb of torque, so i would have expected you to have more.

G12+ can be mixed with G11 and G12. But you cant mix G11 and G12. Hope this helps.

Cheers. I'll have a look this weekend. My G/F has a MK5 Golf, now thats got a nice loud horn...might check if the wiring is similar and get one of them.

Mine sounds pathetic - imagine if postman pat had a horn. TOOT-TOOT. I'm sure it shouldn't sound like that, or is it just the way they are? Can anything go wrong with a horn which is fixable?

Not sure, but ive been told that you can still get them from VW. But for now i think i'll just take them off as they look really bad.

Cheers for that lads. One more question - after you've removed the strip, would it be possible to stick it back on in the future - or does peeling it off bend/warp it out of shape?

My side skirts are fooked - rusting and peeling. I'm going to take them off, but how do i get the strip that is attached to the side of the car which the sideskirt fits to? Dont want to mess up my paintwork. Any tips?

Just to add, my plastic one cracked in the same place. VW dont sell the Y connector seperatly, and a new hose costs -
Sounds like a problem with the HT side of things. Check you HT leads and distributor / coil pack. If you do a search on coil pack on here theres plenty of info for ya! Also do a search for ISV or idle stabilisation valve - not cleaned one myself, but seems to have helped others with problems.

Yes, the crack is on the outer housing. I've slapped some silicone grease over the crack and it seems to have sorted it, but then again it hasn't been that damp today. The WD40 is back in the toolbox, as the last thing i need is a fire!

Not really noticed to be honest, but u think it does not get hot. Its probably your exhaust. Again not sure, but there may be a heat sheild missing above a section of the exhaust, or you may have a blowing exhaust casuing hot fumes to heat up the underside of your car.

Yes, its that simple. The allen key screw on the bottom of the filter housing just drains the oil from inside the housing. Its recommended that the 'O' ring for the allen key screw is replaced.

Ta. I've found a crack in the coilpack housing. I'll try and do a diy job on it sometime, but WD40 it is for now.

Parked my car on the street as the garage is out of use at the mo. Getting sparks from the coil pack to the HT leads (raining today) - making the car stutter under 2k revs. I havent got the time to sort this for a couple of weeks - will driving it like this damage anything?

Give it back to them to sort out, they deserve one chance to rectify it. The various methods of removing the bages do work - but this body shop may have used different glue which may peel your paint. Just give it back & say you're not happy with the result. Just stay calm and sensible etc...After all, i dont think you're being picky with the problems you mention.
