  1. in the back pockets of the idiots who come up with the ideas to start with, and all the idiots who dont get jobs but sponge off the state. by taxing the honest to pay for the dishonest, inc most ministers in government! perhaps they should start issueing them all green tights so we know who the real robbing hoods are! though they seem to have the fairy tale story arse about face to me!!!

    rear style

pardon me nerih, going back to saying i need less beer, why in the hell would anyone with a mk3 even buy an aero wiper for a mk4 when its blatantly obvious that the wiper spindle on a mk4 goes thru the screen? i wasnt trying to take the piss, just asking if u realised the difference, which u say u did, which then begs the original answer, "why?". if you remove the rear hatch spoiler when removing the wiper, the rear screen stays clearer as it moves forward by not trapping the air under the spoiler creating by the vehicles "footprint" as it moves thru air!

nerih, dont mean to sound as though i'm taking the piss, but have u looked at a mk4 rear wiper? it goes thru the screen, so, unless you know of somewhere that does this mod, i'd say it defo wont go!
  4. tbh, as long as you get a good start, it should be fairly even to around 60mph, but a lightly modded vr6 should pull away from a 1.8t from there on. i've never had a prob with them but mine is a strong runner anyway. i'll be putting it to the test soon as my youngest bro has just bought a golf 1.8t, so we'll have a comparison soon!
  5. i have part numbers of the bits needed for jap spec small mirrors, both sides, if anyone wants them. however, i do point out, they are not a vw stock item, do need importing, and are reasonably expensive to boot!
  6. i have one of the smaller boxes in mine with a dual voice coil alpine running a 2ohm load from my genesis 5 and it sounds fine. box has never moved once despite not using the velcro supplied. sub just went in to as they have rather large baskets too!
  7. et is the distance measured from the mounting face of the wheel, to the inner lip of the rim. like jonno said, the lower the et, the closer the wheels sits to the hub, the further out it sticks from the arch!
  8. keep your eyes open on ebay for bargain sets of wheels. you need an offset around 35-38 and a pcd of 5x100 to fit on your vr. the et, or offset, is the measurement taken from the mounting face of the wheel(where it bolts to the hub) to the rear lip of the rim. the lower the et the further out the wheel will sit when fitted to the car!
  9. i am feeling the same as well tbh, tho i've had mine longer than most now. feel its time for a change, but i always get the same over winter. still, it will defo be going next year at some point as the projects nearing completion and i never buy the same car twice!
  10. mitsibushis evo 5+ or an audi a4 1.8t quattro
  11. agreed the type r's and v-tech's in general are well built engines, but tbh no match for a vr in most circumstances. if you dont mind cog swapping on the road like a tazmanian devil then you will be outstripped on the "hop" by a lot more machinery than a normal vr! i have driven several of these type r's in civic and integra models and tho impressive once in the power band, 6k-9k, anything outside of that is like trying to go faster on a bike with no chain! it just doesnt have enuff torque to stir the revs quick enough. anything with over 50lbs less torque than power is always going to strugg
  12. i nearly bought that front myself. wish i had now for the money, they get them in quite often, but not for the price i got offered it at! DOH!
  13. if you are talking about the lower intake vents, yes, the two bolts hold the ends of the bumper. you can do without them tho as both simon and myself have in smoothing the bumper totally! still held on by 3 at top and bottom!
  14. why not bite the bullet and do the mk3.5 cabrio front. original, different, and guaranteed to fit and function as you'd expect!
  15. central locking pump? located in the boot. fuse?
  16. voodoo do them, as do autoleads. look on some of the bigger car audio sites like cel-direct and the likes as they all sell some sort of aftermarket battery terminals. ebay does list them too if u look in the right places!
  17. me too, always something else that someones got that seems to better than yours. eh justin!
  18. trouble with keeping obvious looking weapons in the car, if you get pulled for driving a modded car by the police they frown on it big style! i reccomend keeping summat thats used in the place where you work and can be passed off as an item u use for work, if y'all know what i mean!
