  1. tbh, after all the hype surrounding the film, and peeps comments, i was disapointed at its lack of comedy! not a patch on south park, and the gags were second rate i thought! prob get slated on here now, dont care, didnt rate it highly at all! anh there's nowt wrong with my sense of humour either, b4 any of u ask!
  2. thats bloody poor from a garage, i'd want my money back! hope u get it all sorted for next weekend dude! if i didnt have so much work to do on mine, and and off work with a dodgy knee, i'd offer to lend a few turns of a spanner and a couple of bashes with a hammer!
  3. good luck with the new project mark, hopefully you'll have as much fun, as i know you'll prob use it as a stepping stone to the leon cupra i know u want! sorry to see the old girl go tho!
  4. oettinger are a tuning/styling house chief! they do all sorts from bespoke engine mods to wheels and bodykits!
  5. beetle turbo is only 150bhp dude, same as the golf turbo in standard form! should be an easy target for a well and healthy vr!
  6. i do try to make my input as logical and blame free as possible! it does appear that some comments arrive on top of some double standards tho and i am of the mind that although everyone is entitled to an opinion, nobody should force their own upon soneone else! everyone is different and as such all do/say/react differently to a situation! peace bretheren, lets get on with the job of building a better club and better cars to be proud of! after all, we all make mistakes!
  7. have to say that i feel there are many biased and hypocritical views on this thread and it just shows that people dont think before typing! its okay to razz round in fast cars as long as you aint the driver, but now i'm a copper i have to protect the public speech, its okay to do 130mph in the pitch black on a quiet a road, but its way wrong to do an extra 15mph in broad daylight when conditions and visibility are so much worse speech! come on guys, we all speed , we all do things we shouldnt. if you get caught, thats tought luck, no one died here, and when they do someone is always to blame
  8. shame, think you will regret it, if not for power, then for build tbh. even though you owned one before, its not a patch on vw build, or vr6 midrange punch! unless u spend shitloads!
  9. cheers nerih, have to say, even with only just over the 200bhp mark now, the schrick gives me a very early on "bigger lump" kick that the "3" had, and is a desirable element to my engine bay! if you really believe that there is no replacement for displacement, then it is the way forward! i will be considering a 3.0 rebuild over winter with my spare block if i get expected returns off my stage 2 v9 charger install!
  10. i had one of these in mine not that long ago, very expensive way to extract power when compared to a charger, but mine did deliver in the region of 270bhp and 254lb/ft of torque. engine in the region of 5k's worth of mods and revved to 8k easily! sadly due to build/faulty components, it dropped a valve after 9k and due to circumstances i wont go into here, was eventually offloaded for a reduced price! wish i'd gone with a charger to start with tbh! was very fast and ultra reliable when done tho, till that fatefull day coming onto a slip road........
  11. i'll have a look at mine later nick and see if i can see anything obvious that you could have disturbed to stop it starting! have u tried another battery just to be sure its not that?

    polo vr6

actually the mk4 vr's are not that much quicker than a standard mk3 golf vr tbh! had a play on the way to the trl a few years back when we followed P1 LET on the way there. not much in it at all and the golf had the edge top end. heavy old lump in a polo and destroys some of its handling ability! a 1.8t would be a much more viable proposition these days!
  13. as warren says above, sounds like you might not have the linkage.counterweight aligned correctly! take it to a garage thats familiar with these cars and ask the question!
  14. put it in first or reverse gear nick and try to push it while that way, even if just a short distance to free the starter a little! sounds like a sticky starter motor to me, tho its always hard to tell from description without hearing it first hand! then try to start the car again!
  15. lol, heard some of them before but certainly bought a smile back to my face!
  16. not as common over here as they are in the states where they seem to love the booted variants! sold along the same lines as the jetta, but done well look just as good and a bit different too! handy for a load of ice and room for the shopping/clubs/suitcases/beer/baby clobber, etc!
  17. show off, lol! only jealous, features are getting as common as the trophies now justin me old blingliner!
  18. welcome paul, not going to let you stand next to me and make me look inferior tho, lol!
  19. just taken delivery of my new fk konigsports. due to be fitted this coming week by ny fair ahnd, will be set to hard and wound to 80 mm to start! bought for 510 tokens locally. anyone interested in saving 90 tokens over rrp let me know and i'll see what i can do!
  20. looking sweet dude, get some pics wen its on too!
  21. though the haynes catalogue doesn't actually cover the vr6 engine, so how would he know! its not as easy as most other cars, but hardly on the difficult side! i removed the housing complete on mine when changing hoses to check all was well with the housing as well as they are prone to cracking!
  22. sounds like camber to me too, a 4w alignment is the only way to spec it up as it should be and will cost you around the 45-50 token mark if you dont give it to an audi dealer! most vw garages will only take it to audi anyhow if you book it in for that as they have the breizbass equipment needed to do it!
  23. if you have the original service history then the code is often written in there somewhere. or it could still be on the unit itself on a sticker! failing that its a vw or specialist audio shop jobbie!
