  1. oh, yeah, new cars weigh silly amounts.....but thats so they survive accidents well. don't crash into any new car, even a clio will seriously damage a mkIII golf (a friend had her driver driven into by a new clio, clio had a cracked headlamp and golf had whole rear end stoved in!)
  2. i seriously hope this price includes timing chains, or i'll be totally gutted for ya (not that i'm not anyway....i've been there myself)
  3. all vr6's (and gti's) have oil coolers as standard.
  4. thats great clare....e-mail them to me at acf8181@hotmail.com
  5. its 3000 i think...i used to have a speedo prob so had a bit of paper with the revs/gears on stuck over it! hehe 2600 is 70, then for every 10mph it goes up about 400rpm....i fmy memory serves me correctly. not that i looked at the paper much as you tend to know what speed you're doing. 6. well, i ain't 100& but thought it was worth a mention in case.
  7. i bet you the garage took advantage of a clueless owner, who thought it was like a timing belt and needed changing at 45k. so nothing to worry about.
  8. yep, and have a pipercross logo on it (or did till i pulled it off)..quality seems very good.
  9. man...your cars gonna understeer shit loads! get really good front tyres, and then put remoulds on the rear lol
  10. i think you can just use the cup (or as you call it...top hat! lol).
  11. well, don't count your chickens yet...but hopefully it will be fine for a while.
  12. i have a pipercross in mine....certainly last longer than o.e. and do like they're gonna stop more crap getting into the engine.
  13. i had a speedo prob a whole back, in that it stopped working...it turned out to be a bent terminal in the big wiring harness by the coilpack. worth a look.
  14. its the tyres, i guarantee it.
  15. that sucks....but knowing vw the price could have been a lot worse.
  16. ok, still requiring these... -scan of the log book where it states 'highline' (i know some may not be comfortable with this, but all details will be hidden) -pic of a/c controls (none-climatronic aircon) -pic of black a/b/c pillars -pic of wooden gearknob -pic of raised rear console -pic of inscripted sill protectors -pic of sill (where skirt would normally be)
  17. theres your answer then! to be sure i'd get the codes checked again (vw aren't the only place that do it, specialists can) and then replace it.
  18. just for future reference, if you ever need a vr6 hose and can't source one second hand samco actually sell single hoses for less than vw!
  19. its a very open series i think, so huge differentials in the performance of the cars....and he qualified very poorly. it seems that only bmw boxes sound like that for some reason, as the hewland straight cut box i used in the fford just sounded normal....apart from the judder when you put it into first gear (tip, never have your foot on the brake or you can't get it inot gear! lol)

    Help me!!!

anything will fit if you're determined enough....but they won't plug straight in (or i'll eat my hat), so will require custom welding. best way is prob to chop the frame off your o.e. seats and weld it to the porsche seats.
