    gotta be the gearbox. no point in adding bhp and torque if you can't make the most of what you already have! also, having a charger without a diff will just waste that investment as you won't be able to put the power down effectively.

    think the 6 speed conversion is £1500, but you'd be stupid not to add a quaife atb (and about £500) at the same time.

    a headgasket can go on any car, at any time. i've haerd of brand new cars having them let go inside 5k, and cars doin 170k without any h/g probs. its just luck really.

    oh i see it now...i'm used to obd1's, yours had a lot of other crap...breakers, or you'll have to pay the 70 odd quid i'm afraid. unless someone on here has a spare! may be worth posting on the cgti forum, but do it subtley...such as, 'anyone know where i can get one from', as opposed to 'anyone got one'

    ok, no idea what olly's going on about...ecotec valve?! thats for the servo tube, and it's crap as well! also, can't see which hose is split (i'm half blind today!), can you circle it? welcome to the joys of main dealer hose prices...hence why my vr6 is still off the road. try a breakers yard, though you'll be lucky.

    a vr6 and a pd150 race will be pretty close.

    you won't need your headskimmed pete, as you've cought it early...just like i did. its not that hard to do yourslef, until nuts/bolts start rounding anyway!

    if someone's careless enough/that bad a driver to do that, you gotta wonder what else they've done with the car! if i were you i'd put them on a balancing machine before you refurb them, just to make sure they're still round!
