The best way is to have them rolled...NOT cut.............like dub_weiser said about 30-40 quid to have them rolled,..... but from what ive been told there is a good chance they will crack and in a couple of cases the arch can become distorted &| so i'd say if you want them done once and right.... find a good body shop!.....ive been quoted from a very good body shop in my area £150 per side.........that includes having them rolled pulled seam sealed and painted
Oil pump failure possible.................bottom line is you need to get it to a garage and run some diagnostic's on it....ive had an oil pump go before but I also got the oil warning light and a buzzer coming on so I just pulled over.............Id say don?t drive just get it transported to the garage u normally use or you risk FUC**** the engine up completely &|
Not very good traction control then ................stone in the tyre ?! .....cv jounts will sound on full lock...the EDL system only works up to 40mph and is controled be the abs! [ Edited Tue Sep 21 2004, 01:41PM ]
QUOTE BY ACF8181 IN THE ABOVE LINK depneds on what year your vr6 is...the pre'96 ones do, the '96 on don't have EDL. you should know if you have it as it almost feels like the car starts to tramline when your giving it some round coners...this may be the reason they (wrongly IMO) dropped it. a friend has a highline without it and i have MUCH better traction/grip in my '93 vr6. the way to tell for sure is to look for your abs control unit (the edl uses the abs sensors). on the early models its under the rear seats, if you look on the unit it'll say abs/edl, where as the later models have the ab
IMO....the car will probably handle like sh** on such a big wheel and like minty said you will need arch work done...as i remember from e38, your vr was very low so i'd say a big NO.......go 17" but even then you can have problems if running anything other than a 205
obd 1 cars have it, so yours should too check out this old thread about the tracton control system http://www.vr6oc.com/forum_viewtopic.php?2.699 [ Edited Mon Sep 20 2004, 07:03PM ] [ Edited Mon Sep 20 2004, 07:05PM ] [ Edited Mon Sep 20 2004, 07:41PM ]
lmfao...............I know what you mean...on the odd occasion ive had to use public transport it either late or it never turns up and worst of all is when they lay on buses because the train has broken down ~
you could try a vw breakers....i got mine for £5 quid from stevens vw dismantlers......not mint but i was going to paint it anyway......or just hunt the forum's..........i did ask at vw but this part was somthing like £60 ish + vat &| try http://www.vws.me.uk/ [ Edited Mon Sep 20 2004, 12:52AM ]
yep....same for me, I NEVER NEVER drive my vr hard from cold or any car for that matter............it does it know good...............my last lube service (oil change) from vw cost me £80 quid using magnetic oil..........in the past ive had the service light come on early where by it was not reset at the last service......if this is the case, they will reset it for you for free!
the vr looks mint 8o) ................. a lucky find with that sort of mileage.............most of the low mileage vr's i looked at might as well have done 150k, it took me about 7 month's and many many vr's later before i found the right one .......................was the 16v at e38 btw poss sunday.........i seem to remember one
Can't make the AGM sat night now ..........looks like i'm going to miss out on all the drinking ~ .................................will be down for the rr on sunday though !amazed
quiet right...........it used to be the oldest trick in the book...............A member of my family works for HMS Customs.............they now look out for "gift" marked packages.................if found........... at best you will have to pay duty and vat..........at worst you will loose the item altogether...................companies don't like to send "Gift" items as they can also be fined!
