    best not to buy more than you need, you can always get more if you run out

    that was in total for a set of 15s... I didnt use loads of paint as I didnt rub them back to bare metal except where they needed it, the rest just enough to key the surface

    I've done a couple of sets using spray cans from halfords...I removed kerb marks with a flapper wheel and then rubbed them down with scotch pads. I used a can of primer, 2 cans of alluminium and 2 cans of laquer... it's pretty easy to get a good finish but although it'll cost a frctiopn of powder coating they wont be as hard wearing and will pick up stone chips

    I've been using a LHD as a daily for years and it's really not a problem... hence why after selling te syncro I bought another LHD mk3! If you really must have LHD then get a syncro and convert it because the floor is totally different to a standard mk3 and would require you to buy a syncro for parts anyway.... but as has been said unless you supercharge it or turbo it, it will be slower than a nrmal VR6 anyway!

    if it's anything like the VR then its on the front at the bottom of the engine pretty much in the middle

    In my experience GPC are the best place, £40 but they fit pretty well. Cheap ones just dont fit together properly

    originally they came with 4litre bottles but at some point they changed to the big 7litre ones (possibly for the mk3.5 cab) and VW now only do the big bottles so it could be that someone replaced it for some reason?

    yeah so do I now, I got fined for the German plates then had the US plates stolen so I stick to UK ones now!

    They are cracking down but there's no real consistency though... several people on Phat dubs have been pulled for either incorrect spacing, wrong font, wrong colour and having a D (even though it was a pressed plate with UK font) while others (me included) have been done for white german plates on the back but told the font and D badge were ok! so if you have german plates chances are you'll get pulled sooner or later for something or other!

    Obviously it's personal preference (I think all the wheels xyber posted are hideous... no offence ; )) But it's all going to depend on how much you have to spend, and if it's totally standard I'd add coilovers to the budget because otherwise whatever wheels you choose will look rubbish
