  1. Finally got my arse into gear and ditched the winter look for some TT bling... I know theyve been done a million times (and thats just by me!) but there's not many better OE wheels imo I think it might be time to stick the deep splitter back on and maybe drop it a tad more as well...
  2. Look in the for sale section/ebay/E38 classifieds etc etc
  3. He didnt say they didnt have covers, just that they had DOHC on them rather than 2.8
  4. Nothing ground breaking, Sold the D90s and gone back to polished TT comps.... 3rd VR and all of them have had TT comps at some stage!
  5. nice, mine are going back on later on in the week as Ive finally got round to buying new tyres!
  6. Im yet to see a good looking fox wheel but everything else sounds fine
  7. for that sort of money you could also upgrade the brakes to 312mm TT/4motion ones or for a little bit more get some eibach anti roll bars
  8. ported and polished is having the ports on the manifolds matched up with those on the head, removing rough catings and smoothing the surface to improve gas flow all I can think of for £200 ish that you havent already got is a 6 branch... btw didnt it say something about cams and pulleys originally?
  9. If you went for forced induction then a decat is essential really... made a 20bhp difference on mine! A corrado throttle body is bigger than a golf one and will be a straight swap on your car... I think theyre about £100 but not sure Vortech chargers cost around £2300 and are just a different make of supercharger but able to produce more boost than a ZR2 Dont know how much the head work will cost or how much difference it will make... speak to someone like stealth racing or the phirm
  10. Whats wrong with respraying a mulberry car? Granted Jazz blue is a horrible colour but why worry about what colour some guy thousand of miles away wants to paint HIS car?!
  11. Supercharge it... prices start at aprox £1100 for a second hand ZR2. On top of that you'll need a remap which will add about another £450 (might be a lot less, depends on what exactly he means by 'custom made' ECU) bigger injectors and a decat would help as well. That lot should be good for around 280bhp Also worht considering an oil cooler and maybe water injection as well If you want more power than that a vortech charger or turbo is the way forward
  12. £40 sounds good... thats 4 tyres removed then 4 tyres refitted plus valves and balancing
  13. I used to spend about 8-10 hours on the syncro the day before a show! This one I can have spotless in 2-3
  14. dont know whether it makes a difference to fuel economy though
  15. Its not much more than a vacuum leak that makes a silly noise
  16. Anything can be polished but unless its alloy it will probably rust... chrome is the way forward
  17. The only bit of information you havent mentioned is the most important part... the width! 205/50/16 is definitely too big for a mk3 anyway as the standard 15s have 205/50/15. Guessing that they'll be about 7" wide 195/40/16 should be fine
  18. btw if all you wanted to do was keep up with M3s you should have just supercharged your VR6
  19. Being realistic and criticising are 2 different things innit Exactly... Im not criticising R32s, I love them and like a lot of people (PHM included) it will probably be my next car, theyre great all round cars... good interior, comfortable, fairly quick and look good out of the box... add a supercharger and you've got it all The backlash has come from your attitude not peoples dislike of your car
  20. because they're just winding everyone up?
  21. was nice to meet a few more people and catch up with some old friends... and top it off by winning best stock mk3
  22. cheap are you havin a laugh?? They smell cheap though
