  1. Like richie said, they do fit and are a simple swap
  2. ZR2 chargers use toothed belts
  3. not sure... I got a couple of the OC stand They're all here http://www.phatdubs.co.uk/phatdubs/GTI_Spring_2008-1.html
  4. Strictly Dubs are in Essex and specialise in Engine conversions... www.strictlydubs.com
  5. Here's a few of mine from Spring Festival... the rest will be on www.phatdubs.co.uk later
  6. you'll also need the plastic intake pipe and a standard sized ribbed belt
  7. thanks... yeah I quite liked it as well unfortunately wasn't very suitable as a daily and I couldnt afford to run 2 cars so she had to go
  8. You won't need to undo the TB from the manifold as you're changing both... much easier to leave them joined and just undo the plastic air intake hose. you'll need 2 hose clamps to clamp the coolant hoses from the TB. There's more than 6 bolts holding the manifold on (7 at the front, 2 at the back) but they're all the same size allen bolt. You'll also need a spline socket set to undo the plastic covers
  9. cheers mate... trust me it is rarely that clean at this time of year, get's used daily on some very dirty country lanes...
  10. cheers... it's a daily so I've just kept it simple and still usable
  11. US cars don't have a front plate recess as most states don't require a plate at the front... had my last 2 engine bays polished/chromed fancied a change this time
  12. cheers... definitely worth hunting out a good back drop, I think a container park would make a good site but can't find one that will let you in!
  13. Appearances are deceptive mate... the clean bay is just attention to detail and a jet wash The paint is pretty much original just a lot of polish and wax (and the photo's are flattering) and it was originally badged as a GTI VR6 the little rabbits didnt come on mk3s... mine cost £2.95 from ebay and then I painted it black I'm flattered that you think it looks like it cost a fortune though... means I've got away with it!
  14. Thanks, but like Mike said haven't spent a lot at all... coilovers, wheels and leather recaros are about the only main things. The bodywork is pretty much standard US spec apart from the black grill, badges, mirrors and lights etc which I've done myself
  15. cost so much money to do what? he baught it from the us does look nice It did look a bit different when I bought it... it was 100% standard
  16. Not really any new mods (just a few tweeks) but as it actually stopped raining long enough for me to wash the car this weekend and I've got a new camera to play with I thought it's time to take some pics... The rain didn't hold off long enough to get the bonnet open so here's an engine pic from a few weeks ago...
