Glad you got the car sorted but unlucky with the the hernia. I had a double hernia done 5 years ago and it wasn't fun at all! -

Nice. My filler is rusted badly so need some body work doing (wings and rear quarter, sills etc.. One for next year I think

Yellow sensor on thermostat housing switches on after-run. Bridge the pins on opposite corners. (Can't remember which ones) will dig out my Bentley as it says in there. If you bridge and your fans come on, Likely to be the sensor, if not then FCM or another fault.

I've read about this and seen various videos. Seems good in theory but suppose only cost effective on cars that's had a full coolant system overhaul. I think id still be too scared to try it (just had a new engine built and installed)

Sounds about right mate. I've just had a full rebuild of my obd2 Corrado. Pistons, rings, rods and block work cost best part of 1k! If your engine is AAA then no difference (2.8l) was only ABV in 2.9l.

Pretty common, there are various tests you can do to determine the fault.... 1) Check the fuse in the Fan Control Module under the header tank 2) fan position switch usually can cause problem, so after you've checked the fuse, bridge the pins on the plug, this controls fan speed 1 / 2. 3) Speed 3 is controlled by the black plug on the thermostat housing. 4) There is also an "after-run" which is operated from the yellow plug (also operates the Aux pump and temp gauge). If you don't see any signs of movement then you could either have a faulty FCM or your fan motor is dead. I believe
