Car is fairly standard aside from KwV1 coilovers. Pete knows the car from a couple of shows last year,it used to have BBS Rx2's fitted Interior re trimmed in Bentley leather3 points

Had some help today my little rascal decided to help me stone chip the sills n rear aches .. Put the skirts back on .. Got an issue with the drivers door dropping so new pins from VW this week aslong as they still do them ... Plus I had to make a " modification " to one of my intake pipe for a re circ for the catch tank as it was venting to atmosphere so was pointless ... Plus filling the cabin with fumes . Found a rip in the carpet so I'll be buying a new one lol . Sunroof next payday n need to fabricate a few things ... It's got to me a touch this week but soon as I get a little van for work1 point

Alot of it is driving technique-learning how to use the throttle-for example when travelling at a set speed, backing off throttle a touch will keep you at set speed but reduce fuel consumption-but it sounds like you know what you're doing driving wise. I'd be doing the basics: Making sure tire treads are good, matched and correct pressure Servicing - full Make sure tracking is set correctly-even a tiny bit out will effect. Loose as much weight as possible-all junk, ,unessasary items. Good quality fuel Making sure the car is up to operating temperature - a sticky thermostat can drop mpg as the1 point

I've got a telescopic magnet because I'm always dropping nuts and bolts and things where I can't get to so I bought that lol Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk1 point

Its easy enough mate, just make sure all your timing marks are in place, remove your chain tensioner, lift the chain off your cams, unbolt your cam and lift out then I used a magnet to lift the lifters out. Its as simple as that Sent from my GT-N8010 using Tapatalk1 point

Sorry I had to pull out guys all due to my cylinder head being cattled trucked and not being able to replace it before the show Sent from my GT-N8010 using Tapatalk1 point

Hmmm, I'll research all options-thanks guys! Looking forward to a few weeks time, as well as my main job, I also have my own little business selling cars part time and it's typically fallen that at the moment my cars I have for sale all have work being done-once all are done I can stop using the VR and start the proper restoration/modifications can start1 point

I think someone on vortex did it once. Supposedly lose low down and get more at the top. I guess it all depends how much difference your hoping it'll make. Realistically you'll never know till you have a go, you could always get one second hand, try it, and if it's not much cop flog it on? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk1 point -
No mate I'm going turbo , but realistically there wouldn't be an issue running a shorter intake on an a n/a anyways Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

the flow of water looked interrupted and looked like it had got small bubbles of air .. i had also heard that the water pumps have plastic impellers so to squash the theory that it was cooling enough for a short while but the impeller had sheared off ... i removed it .. whilst it was off as i ddint know the millage i replaced it ... as a precaution and for future smooth running.... I fixed the problem anyways now .. it was the NEW thermostat that i had fitted only days ago ... i replaced it with a Genuine item at a cost of £26 and and problem solved... also changed the matrix but will1 point
