  1. Hi All just an update brought a vr6 a while back now and it was cheap but a bit neglected so i had some work to do after checking it out at work. Found a broken spring and exhaust loose and various bits of trim hanging off also a bad internal water leak so i have been busy and now finally taxed & tested. 1st thing i did was change the coilovers they had jom fitted and were in a bad way a n/s/f broken spring and all set at differant heights resulting in a crap ride and tyres scuffing while i was there i changed the oil didnt have a filter but didnt matter she wasnt going anywere. i managed

  4. Literally my boiler decided to self destruct, heat exchange totally rotten and killed the boiler, written off and condemned so been a little busy and not posting here! (Naughty Pete) 2.6k for a combi system! Awesome Going with a vaillant ecoPLUS 831 boiler with the hive active heating thermostat https://www.hivehome.com/ so I can control using my phone anywhere in the world. Install date next Wednesday. Until then fan heaters and oil radiators are keeping us warm, for now hehe. Not so happy new year for me lol Anything rubbish happened to you guys since the start of 2014? Club Chairm

  5. Any reason why I cannot used a set of HT leads from my 4motion engine on my Vr6 turbo motor. They are so much easier to work with as they have the handle to pull

  6. Thanks for that info! Didn't realise the chains were at the other side. Haven't had a chance to look yet due to lighting issues. I reckon it's a tensioner of some kinda. But could be the water pump as Pete said. I'll have an in depth look tomorrow and see what it could be. Hopefully nothing major.

  7. you say the sound is coming from left hand side of engine? and your video also shows the left or alternator side. the chains on the vr6 are abit different to most other engines, they are on the gearbox side. i know sounds like this can be hard to pinpoint as they tend to ecco around the engine bay. if the sound is definitely coming from the left then it steers away from chains.

  8. its a shame you arent local to me pete because thats what i do for a job gas enginner and plumber i would of soughted you out alot cheaper but boiler choice is good as my boiler went in dec so ripped it out and fitted a ecotec plus 831 aswell excellent boiler

  13. Boo! But on the upside you'll have a well sorted motor! Looks the business up close and it'll be good to hear how you get on at a future show Difficult to answer at the moment as I haven't picked it up yet (and have tried not to think about it!), but I believe the price given was £5.5k with a Helix clutch. I've also opted for an LSD, Chains, and the head/gearbox given a once over as well as getting Vince to fit my big brakes (as I couldn't undo the bastard brake hose union!). I have maybe gone a bit overkill, but I wanted some peace of mind. It will definitely cost a fair bit more than the li
