  1. It is absolutely brilliant! Still using any excuse just to go out and drive the thing some blurb and pics: For the benefit of some who asked about the stealth turbo: Firtly, I must say the level of service is top notch and I can't recommend the stealth guys enough. Vince and co spent a long time explaining everything that had been done, the reasons why and how to maintain the vehicle, recommending the best plugs, oil, etc. it was obvious that a hell of a lot of work had gone in to the car, and IMO it represented excellent value for money if you're seriously considering turbo but don't feel

  6. No probs mate, that's the beauty of forums, we're all here to help each other if we can. If your sticking with speedlines, just try to fathom where they are rubbing. They were corrado speedlines I had as winter wheels and in know they were fine on 205s. Can't see them being a different offset.

  9. Yeah the handles go straight in 2 minute job mate. Yes very nearly there now a few little problems left to sort out I'm having a spare crank pulley machined down as it catches the chassis leg when the engine is revved because of where I've lifted the engine, then I better drive it as I haven't apart from up the yard since doing all the work, hopefully nothing catches or rubs!

  10. Had a maul with the Golf today, removed the rear bumper and disposed of the crash bar, all 11 kilos of it, in the process I dislodged spiders and other hibernating furry animals too, it was filthy behind the bumper. In addition to removing some rear end weight, I also removed the front bumper and headlights, the headlights are now on the internet for sale as I have bought a set of standard replacement lights as xenons are not needed. I just need to fathom out what wire does what on the loom so I can wire the standard lights in as the connectors are different. Final thing I did was

  12. That's an impressive build you've got going there, well done so far. You had a proper touch with your goodies package too! Wish I had the time and skills to give my golf the tlc it deserves. Keep the photos coming please, it's good to see the car taking shape. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  13. I've run speedlines with 205 tyres and coilovers in the past too without issue, can't understand why yours is catching. I support what the tiers have said though, don't break it whatever you do, Rome wasn't built in a day mate. Give the tyres some serious thought, if you've got any plans of changing wheels in the future, it might be worth doing it once and once only (as in now), or even try findin part worn tyres as a temp measure, or even temporary wheels, which I've also done in the past. Get down the scrappy and have a look for a couple of passat steels or something. There's ways and means

  14. Yeah mate, I keep seeing them but they always turn up when I'm skint lol We're they easy to fit? I've heard they're a direct replacement. Your car is beginning to look finished, the home stretch is here!
