  4. Evening all, just thought I'd share with you the issues I'm having with my Corrado VR6. Now I have a problem with the engine, it has always 'ticked' when cold so I've bought a new set of lifters that are waiting to be fitted, then I noticed a bad rattle sound when hot and under load, its worse above 3k and quite loud so I took it up to Dan at Devon Dub Shack, he advised me to see an old customer of his who is a bit of a VR6 expert, he suggested that it could be big and/or small ends.... bugger... however he has a mate who has an engine for sale... so a deal was done and I ended up being the

  5. It's pretty much an astra gsi turbo underneath the only bit of van left is the shell, then it's got all the astra Vxr goodies on it, a few other bits and a remap, really pisses the audi, BMW and range rover drivers off in the fast lane of the motorway, Haha!!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  6. Youll want to wet and dry first mate, then polish as said above, just use a fine grade id do a couple of passes with 1200 then 1500 then 2000 wet and dry, wipe off then clay bar, then polish with a finishing type of polish pad at around 1200rpm, start with a fine finishing polish dependant on how rough the lights are. Just keep the machine moving, plastic cant take the heat the pad will generate in comparison to paint. The meguiars stuff is like £20 for some sandpaper and a polishing bonnet! its 20p a sheet for wet and dry and no doubt youll already have some polish and a machine, if not get

  7. Yeah this was meant to be a little budget project to keep me busy over the winter, just because the car was so cheap and I always wanted a vr6......... and now I'm here!! Think it's going to mean I'm going to have to sell my other toy now:( As I'm not going to have time to keep the both of them plus my daily driver in tip top condition! This is my 'van' all 293bhp of it;) Gonna be sad to see it go,but owning a supercharged vr6 soon makes me think oh well:) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  8. DIY mate, the only way youll ever truly be happy with the standard. £40 should see you right if just an oil and filter change, i did mine including plugs for £47. At least ill know the oil is right, the sump plug wont be rounded off and the oil filter is put on un threaded and hand tight plus a twist and the plugs are torqued in correctly. 2 bad experiences would prompt me to diy.

    Headlight issue

From memory the systems use the headlamp flasher/main stalk as relay pull plug off stalk switch lamps on and bridge the white with black trace to yellow(dipped beams should come on) then bridge same to white mains should illuminate if so then your stalk is faulty Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  12. I just looked up how much eisenmann exhausts are:o weren't sure about it and was going to stick with my miltek, I think I'll have to use it now!! So I cleaned it up; The only thing that's annoying is that they've welded the what looks like custom centre section to it! Then I got these cleaned up,they look to be in pretty good nick,no leaks or anything, then wd40'd up the threads so I'll hopefully get the adjusters moving at work tomorrow as I'll be wanting to run the car a lot lower than he did;) hopefully they'll ride better than the pro sport ones I put on there, then I can sell the prosports

    First good clean

Car enthusiasts always like to use the latest specialist brands and exotic waxes etc but auto glym is a good range of products too, they just have the usual tarnish of being very established and mainstream so everyone thinks not good. Use their SRP ons red car and it looks fantastic.

  16. Thank God!! That means that it is complete, and i dont have to worry about the front drivers anymore!! 20% of the way there.... This was all in the hallway before parents moaned at me. consists of, Coilovers, brake discs and pads, wishbone, new headlights, various screws and top mounts and a few other bits... Whoops. The frustrating buggered screw and then everything else in place. Not lowering this too much, but shall see how we get on. (can see where its rounded and flattened off) Cheers for reading.

Would love to start the year with this show. With my car fresh out of paint with a few new mods it would be the perfect start to the year to represent the club again :-)
