well after 4 months am finally fitting my new engine

done

Went to an show and whine event arranged by the local branch of VW-Audi Club Norwegen this sunday. Won top 3 VW, very happy with that. Took some pictures together with some mates of mine that also won (and have a slight case of OCD just like me).
 
 
 



 


 

Just had my highline welded up at wvs welding in Normanton it was as rotten as a pear.
Tony went above and beyond replacing 2 floor pans inner and outer sills and 
repairing the chassis legs and a lot of other bits that needed attention
he did a first class job, the price was about what I expected to pay for 70 hrs work plus materials.
I was quoted £4000 by rust box restorations and ended up paying less than half that.
I would not hesitate to recommend his work.
 

Not much happening lately, ordered some new wheels earlier this summer, but order got delayed. Finally got them on the car. 
 
8.5x17 ET35, 10mm spacer in front to clear the callipers, 5mm rear. 
 

Did a tidying up and a clean in the engine bay. 
 
Will fit oem red ignition cables and black hoses sometime soon, the blue ones are a bit too much fast&furious for my taste. 😄

I too was looking into Turbo'ing my VR  a couple of years ago and spoke to Vince at Stealth in great length about doing so.
Long story short I ended up Supercharging it instead, all I can say is Vince stated that standard internals are good for 400 bhp, mine is standard and is running a modest (by todays standards) 290 bhp.
As Noggin says above, ring and speak to Stealth as they'll be happy  to point/guide you in the right direction.

So I’m looking into getting a vr6 and wanting to do a turbo build on it I’m quite new to this side of modification and need as much help as possible so where abouts can I get a turbo kit from and not some eBay crud and can I run a kit on stock internals
